Alright. Just testing the waters here.
EVERY time i detail, or wash, (or even wipe dust off my hood), it rains the next day.
Does god just not like me, or do you all get this too.
I'm not exaggerating either. Every single time in the year and a half i've owned the car.
hell i should wash it tonight so tomorrow when its supposed to be 95 itll rain :o

it's the opposite for hector... his car will stay clean for at least 2 weeks after a wash... you should wash your cars together to see what happens...

I just finished Chris' car today. As I was taking pics, it started raining. I only get 2 days of grace, but I got greedy. The car gods didn't let me do 3 cars in 1 weeekend. Guess 2 out of 3 isn't bad :) Pics will be posted in the pics of detailed cars....

Yep, now I have to figure things out. We need to talk. I'm thinking of picking up another buffer. My lil bro and i are starting to knock some more cars, he seemed to have a good handle on things, he just needs guidance on products.

I've gotta pick up a new buffer myself, left it at a friends house once and it got rained on/broken....
he paid me 70 bucks for it though, so its basically half paid for.... Think i should go with the dewalt?

Not bad. i have a feeling that Harbor Freight might have them a lil cheaper....but that's a good price for that one. I want to make a trip to Harbor Freight, if i don't like prices or what I see this is a good second choice. I like it has up to 3k rpm, but i don't like it starts at 1k rpm....my Makita starts at 700 or so. I rather play it safe.....I know 1k rpms is for beginners, but that's just the way I like it.........

Yeah, thats the exact buffer I used at lexus, so i've got a feel for it..Otherwise I'd probably take a makita. (thats what most of my power tools are anyway)
I will say though, in detailing probably 150 cars (2 a day for summer), I've only burned one with that thing. Luckily it was a spot about ( ) big on the bumper of a giant yukon...

Same here on the buffer burn...that was when i started learning about the speeds. I rather take my time, instead of doing more cars.........

the white one i think. ya, i was gonna get my car detailed by the guys at the dealership yesterday, but backed out when i saw the horrible rain. im doing it today.
its nothing special. just a spin through the was, drying it with the shami towel and hand waxing it with the paint protector stuff. oh and its free too. so i win.

where in the world is there a 10 mph speed limit?
Kowalski
06-02-2006, 05:04 PM
school zone?
Rocky
06-02-2006, 05:19 PM
20 on school days when children are present. Ive seen 15 in 90deg turns, but never 10.
Maybe a parking lot?
Kowalski

GLD also enforces slow speeds... but I don't think cops would be there...
Rocky
06-02-2006, 05:26 PM
who knows. I went to aurora to pick up my friend's new camaro yesterday, i swear to god there are more cops per square inch there than anywhere ive been in my life. Sitting inside culvers, i saw 7 cops drive by in a 20 minute period. And he is driving around in a camaro with no plates and 20% tint all around. that was fun.
Kowalski
06-02-2006, 05:30 PM
wow, at least they don't give tickets for stupid stuff like that...
Rocky
06-02-2006, 05:32 PM
lol no plates isnt really stupid...especially on a 100 mile drive home from Morris.... but yeah, it was a good time. 3800cc V6 in a camaro ftl though, its so underpowered even for a 5 speed.
Kowalski
06-02-2006, 06:49 PM
i should have said that the tints thing is the stupid one... the no plates thing isn't... oops, my bad...

Makita 9227: 600 rpm - 3000 rpm
Harbor Freight: 300 rpm - 3000 rpm
