Honda S2000

What do these things run? I have some money on the line and I need the recipe to beat this car [at GLD]. Any thoughts? This guy has exhaust and about 100lbs of weight reduction. So far I have VQ35 + 350z IM + 100lbs weight reduction + Coilovers.

i really couldnt tell you. it could be a close race, depending on the driver. i have seen stock and lightly modified s2000's run 13.5-14.1 on the strip depending on launch and driver.

and i have seen the 4th gen with the swap run anywhere from 13.8-14.3. so its looking like a drivers race.

with just exhaust there is no way he's close to 13's. Stock they run around mid 14s so as long as you're in the 13s, you're good.

The S2000 is a tick quicker than the 350Z. I'd say it would be a close race with a 4.5gen with the advantage in favor of the Maxima. But honestly, I'd say it's going to be more of a driver's race than anything.

I raced his ass last night at a stop sign. I was on the inside lane and he was in the outter. It was a one block race and whoever merges first before the cars start blocking the way wins. Off the line I got him good and by the time I was going to merge he was 1/2 a car behind me so I couldn't pass him and had to brake. Sooo close...

This was with the 3.0 4th Gen. It does not seem like he knows how to launch the car very well. I am pretty confident that with the 3.5, I should get him good.

I never raced him. The clutch is not even broken in yet. As for the S2000....I never really liked the S2000 because I always thought it was slow. I was always making fun of S2000man and always talked shit. But then one day I test drove one and I just fell in love. Now I know why Dave liked the Porsche Boxster so much. Sure it may not have much torque, but it's a bust to drive due to the handling and the 9000 RPM. Also, chicks dig the ride =P.
