I was looking for a starter bike for myself & I stumbled apon this one, I fell in love with it because of the color, I can take it for $2200, it is a 2004 with a jet kit, new paint job, & exhaust with 2640 miles. What do you think?

You think so? The only thing about it I didn't like was the headlight.

I say its perfect, anything under 750cc's is a perfect for a starter. For that price you can't go wrong. If you drop it you won't care as much as if you were to drop a brand new GSXer.

those kawasaki 250's are great starter bikes. i've ridden them before and honestly, it feels fast enough. those 600cc+ sport bikes are suicidally fast.

looks like an alright deal
you can resell it when you are done with it for pretty much the same price
also you can haggle down, bring cash with u
anyone can make an offer...but a person with cash can back it up

Thats just to much money for something I can ride for 3-4 months in my opinion, as far as it being weak, many sites compare the speed to a WRX STi or a Porsche Boxter, which for a bike, might be weak.. but, thats still crazy fast, & for something to learn & use to conserve gas I think thats alright in my books... *shrug*

I've been looking at EX500's, the EX250 is the exact same body (unchanged for the most part since 1988), and having ridden both, I'd suggest going for a 500. Even for me, my 5th or 6th time riding, the 250 felt underpowered. Acceleration was lacking, and I was riding very safe, not wanting to crash a showroom bike. Try riding both first, and see what you think.

it's a first bike, it SHOULD be underpowered.

i still call bs on the 1K gsxr new for 5 grand, he probably feel for one of the scams
impossible, that is 50% of its msrp
if you get lucky u can score a 600rr/zx6r/gsxr6 for about 6998$+taxes new

IMO This is just not worth it. My first bike was GSX-R750. I was a little nervous at first but when I got used to riding it, I never second guessed my purchase. My wife learned on her GSX-R1100. I think after while your gonna regret buying a 250cc motorcycle, especially for 2200.00. My 750cc cost about a grand more.

Sorry for being negative.....just giving you the real.

that gsx r is really nice. one of these days im gonna get a bike, i just have to calm down a little.

oh and for a learner bike a 250 is nice, but youll get tired of it fast and want something more powerful.

Well an EX500 is nowhere near as fast as a modern EFI 600cc, those things are deathtraps to a new rider, this is a 50 hp carbeurated (sp) 118 mph top speed entry level sport bike. It's tame enough for a newbie, but will still be fun once he learns how to ride. With the 250 its just not there.

Besides, I think Crazy Cruise rode one in top gun. That makes it uber kewl.

i dont know what im smoking dave. i guess i was tired yesterday. shit. my bad. i vote go for it because its a good learner bike, but i also vot dont go for it because you'll get really tired of it really fast.
