yup yup, my car with a slipping tranny between 1st and 2nd took a gtp by 2-3 car lengths... if anybody knows the road going west on foster between austin and higgins, that's where it happened...

nice andy. good to know that you still have a heavy foot. speaking of racing how bad is the trans slipping.

Well GTP's suck considering its a superchargered 3.8 engine thats only produceing 240 hps. Garbage

wow u seriously dont know about that.. well my buddy has a 2003 gtp all he has is lowered pully and a down pipe... and runs 13.7.... those cars are crazy... they respond real well to mods like that.. its insane

It's common knowledge...Drop a pulley size and you're in the 13s like a pedophile...

those cars are nice, but i have seen the internals of the stock supercharger go to shit after you drop the pulley size and ride it really hard. it sucks on the stocker. also the trans has a tendancy of slipping with even a little power added.

its a nice car, but still a pontiac. so it will still fall apart as soon as you start driving it off the lot.

u know what.. thats what i thought tooo but that thing is a pretty reliable car bro... and they are fucken fast.. just suck cuz they are fwd.. all the ones that i have driven suck because going 40 u floor it and the wheels spin... its crazy

lololololololololololerz!

i hate how any domestic starts to have a squeeky interior after a bit of regular use... at 106k miles, my altima got its first interior squeek: between the dash and glove box area...

no squeaks out of any of my cars' interiors.

surrprisingly, a benz i drove yesterday had a squeekier interior than a drift competition...

i had a 92 old cutlass..i got that ting to 196k mi before those injectors blew. i hope to get my maxima to that mileage. they sure dont build them like they used to

I hope you have a turbo or a swap if your gonna make a claim like this.

Grand Prix GTP's dont have a badge on the truck unless he was some sorta ricer that put one there.

Well GTP's suck considering its a superchargered 3.8 engine thats only produceing 240 hps. Garbage

Tipical of a import driver to say because the almighty VQ35 Maxima makes 15HP more than the 97-03 GTP with a smaller motor. You gotta remember this is a pushrod engine from 1995. Sure the newer DOHC high reving motors make a little more power but they lack on the torque. A stock L67 (GTP motor) makes 240HP/280TQ and these numbers are slightly underestimated like some GM performance cars.

yea with a dropped pully size they run high 13's.... have u ever driven one...

All you really need to get a GTP to run high 13's with no KR is a 3.4 Pulley, DHP PCM, 3' Downpipe, and a Intake. These parts costs less than $400. 13's with a auto 3500 pound car is pretty good.

those cars are nice, but i have seen the internals of the stock supercharger go to shit after you drop the pulley size and ride it really hard. it sucks on the stocker. also the trans has a tendancy of slipping with even a little power added.

Sure if you run too small of a pulley with out supporting mods you will damage the engine.

I would rather have a little interior squeak than my car rusting away before 100K miles like my friends Nissans.

Alright...you know what. enough i know where this is going. I seriously doubt a real GTP was racing. That's the thing about street racing. You never really know when 2 people are racing, or one is just messing witht the other. I play with people all the time. i don't race them, they think I'm going to. As for the import vs. domestics....it's all the same thing. some cars are lemons others are not.

Actually quite a few of my friends drive maximas, I was just checking out this local Maxima forum and came across this thread.

Enough? You gonna lock this thread or BAN me already before the Altima driver even tells me whats dont to his Altima.

dude you deserve a ban for coming in and starting shit....i dont think any maxima owners go around to grand prix or w/e forums and start talking shit. we have better things to do with our time....

HAHAHA!! I'm not here to ban people all crazy. I'm not power hungry. First of welcome to the forum. Secondly, every forum has it's ricers and what not. The 'altima driver' has a heavy foot, and frankly I doubt the other guy was racing him. You stated your opinion, and 95GLEMAXX did too. There are a couple of things you both said that are just plain wrong. I rather measure my car is faster than yours as opposed as to imports vs. domestics...

cars don't rust because of mileage.
they rust because of use.

there are build issues on all cars.
as you can see from my sig I'm not really biased towards domestics or furin cars.
I'm supposed to be picking up a bonneville and a lumina tomorrow.

Bottom line: Both the GTP and the Maxima are great cars. The Maxima does have the advantage of at least being offered in stick. They're within 300 lbs. of one another and they're a good match in power. The driver will make the difference.

97-03 or 04-05 GTP's are a good match up for a VQ35 Maxima 02-03, but im not debating GTP vs Maxima here. I want to know how someone who drives a altima can make a claim that he beat a GTP. He better have a HUGE mod list.

I know anything can happen on the street but if he actually raced a SC'ed GTP the GTP was just playing with the Altima. According to the discription on the first page he talks about his trans slipping 1st and 2nd so they oviously raced from a stop and he still beat this GTP? What did the GTP sit there and smoke up his tires or something?

Hell my friends 95 Altima lost to a 02 3.0 non-DOHC Taurus SE. It was a actual setup race from a stop, the taurus pulled 1/2 a car on the Altima to about 90. This guy is trying to say he beat a GTP in a altima  Again I want to see a huge mod list.

I'm pretty sure andy made this thread to be a joke or something. He's smart enough to know the GTP wasn't trying. So, newb, you can quit this shit, now.
