What do you guys think, trade my car in for an 07 ?

eh, ive seen too many problems with them already.

the radios crap out on them all the time, the tranys have issues, there is squeaking comming from the rear end, and the front passenger seat heater seams to be going out on every other maxima we sell. id wait 6 months untill the bugs are worked out.

Why bother? The 2007 is just another disappointing Maxima, undeserving of the 4DSC heritage.

It looks pretty damn nice. I say once the bugs or whatever are fixed, you should go for it. Looks way better then what you have now.

Like Boob said let Nissan fix all the bugs out and get a 2008 instead or a late 2007 model.

I'm sorry Steve but I definately have to agree with Dave on this lol...after reading your lil highway adventure I'd say to stay with FWD..

Why do you want to get rid of your 6th gen? anything in particular buggin you about it that makes you wanna trade it?

+ 1 very true... I test drove the 05 Maxima SL fully loaded auto... Its a nice looking car on the outside, very spacious, but i dont like its overall feel. It feels weird.... dont get me wrong smooth ride, roomy interior, but I hate the console - - poor design very hard to figure out at first, all the buttons look the same. Not a fan of the suspension of the SL, SE holds better. I prefer the older generation maximas, they had a more nimbler sportier feel and look to them.

The interior of the pre-07's are hideous. Just disgusting. I saw it for the 1st time last week and wow.... just nasty, horrendeous, frightening, ugly, assandtits's "thick" mom looking. =x

I have not seen the 07's interior yet.

It's not that bad. There are a few quirks but no interior is perfect.

Everyone's got an opinion. Personally I would never swap my 06 interior for an 03. I like it better and so do others. There are also people who love the 5th gen and not the 6th. That's why we have choices in life, so everyone can be happy.

hahaha.. maybe it is... first time i set foot in Duck's car.. i fell in love with the interior scent of his car... it smells so good in there...

the ultimate car i can always almost guarantee to fall asleep in is Dave's car.. there's somethign about his car that makes it so.....comfy...hehe.. sometimes it smells really good in there too...

Tints and clean cloth seats really makes a car comfortable.

maybe... but seriously there's something about dave's car... not only do I fall asleep in there but Jess has as well.. and Duck told me that even he became really really really tired yesterday.. (i dunno if he fell asleep but i know he was really close to it)...

it can't be just the tint tho.. kuz my brother passes out when i'm driving my car from time to time and my windows aren't tinted...hehe.. i get sleepy in my own car if someone else is drivign my car.. (even when i'm driving, i get sleepy)

walec05

i get sleepy as hell in my car if im driving late at night comming from daves house. i think it might have to do with the tint, because when i hit lets say I90 pass 53 i start waking up, becasue the highway is lighted, but before i hit that, its dark as hell in my car.

well then it doesn't make sense with dave's car kuz i don't think his front windows are tinted and i always have automatic shot gun in his car (if not i'll get car sick).. actually in any car for that matter if i'm not driving...(hence i usually drive).. his car is just really comfy... i think that's what it is.

i actually rode in daves car today, and i think it might be how smooth of a ride it is. I was quite amazed by it.

I've passed out in my car a few times..... its those comfy cloth seats ! I recall getting home one nite around 3-4AM and after parking the car I just passed out with my foot on the clutch all nite long and car in gear with the Ebrake on. As I woke up around 7AM- sun hit me in the face and it got hot.... the car stalled out cause I let off the clutch.... duhhh. Yeah Maximas are quite nice "crash places".

i agree... suspension is not to stiff but still handles really well, exhaust note is perfect... what's not to like?

Ovaltine Jenkins
09-27-2006, 01:50 AM
I'm pissed cause my suspension is set at 3F/8R, 4f/8r is the stiffest. Worst of all, the struts might be blown, again...

DasTeknoViking
09-27-2006, 01:53 AM
Illuminas, AGX or Konis ? I blew out alot of those Koni inserts they make for the 4th gen in my 5th gen......I think I went through 3 sets in 100K miles. I've been through 1 set of JICs in 60K so far.... but I dunno exacly how many miles are on them overall as I bought them used from Y2KevSE.

Ovaltine Jenkins
09-27-2006, 01:54 AM
AGX, got them from slimer and they felt like they were blown from day 1. I need to see if he still has his receipts since they have lifetime warranty...

DasTeknoViking
09-27-2006, 02:26 AM
My JIC where blown when I got them too, took me months to figure out what was causing the weird noises and then finally it got really bouncy and i knew it needed to be repleaced.

AGX warranty is only on not lowered cars, I remember cause I had them on my SE-R. I dunno how they actually warranty them but if they take em apart they can see if the car has been bottomed out too many times- this destroys the shocks. This is also why I see sooooo many 4th gens rolling around with blown rear shocks on my way commute to work- lack of rear suspension travel. Rear shocks bottom out way too easy. Good luck on the warranty, I know Tokico is pretty good with warranty, never dealt with KYB.

Ovaltine Jenkins
09-27-2006, 02:30 AM
agx are warranted with drops up to 1.5" from what I've read...
