View Full Version : Smacked around by a Porsche 911 Turbo
Coming out of the parking lot today, I was following a brand new Porsche 911 Turbo...the exhaust note, even when crusing, was musical. I know the owner of the car and as we get out of the lot and onto Hwy 6, he gets on the gas a little to pass a minivan. Me not wanting to get stuck behind the soccer mom also swings out and passes, keeping the 911 close. I change lanes so I'm now in the left lane, ahead of the minivan but a car length behind the Porsche in the right lane.
Red light.
"Greg, gorgeous car! You ever let her run?"
"Thanks...and yeah."
Green light.
He takes off HARD and I was left at the line like this:
:eek2:
I didn't even try to catch up...he was gone so fucking fast, it wasn't even funny. All I could hear was that beautiful sound of screeching rubber and the melodic exhaust of a flat six in the high rpms.

i love the way those car look on the highway when your behind them....the guy punches it and it sits to the ground and almost like hugs it the faster you go. ah, the technological advancement in aerodinamics.

ya, i learned manual on a 05 altima 3.5se. i guess a maluch would be a little trickier to learn on, since you have a whole gagillian horse power and the roads in poland arent the greatest.

oooo... you're lucky. i learned how to drive manual on a 02 nissan sentra se-r or sumthing close to that. it was that special blue color
I actually get to drive a new, race-ready GT3 over Labor Day. I'm going to SLC to watch my dad's boss race it and afterward, provided he doesn't break it, I get to play with it for a bit.

we had 3 manual porsches that day... they all look exactly alike but because of subtle differences, i generally remembered what they were...
