Has anyone heard or seen a Maxima with 8" free air subwoofers in the doors ? I am tempted to put 2 8" subs in the rear doors of my 5th gen. I have nice 12" sealed box with Eclipse Titanium sub in it, brand new never even used..... but I want something that I won't have to take out at the track.

i think it will rattle alot, but if you want then i guess you can do it, and no i have never seen one in a maxima.

Well if anything I will dump my Bostons out the rear doors, they are not good for bass what so ever. I would like to do without a subwoofer if possible. I have a brand new 600W Alpine V12 mono amp and brand new subwoofer in a box..... but I reather go LIGHT than heavy.

I'll be using 6.5" free air kickers in my rear deck...

good point dave, that would be a good thing to do. put the subs in the rear 6x9 deck. they shouldnt ratte as much there and it will sound a little better.

my 5th gen has no rear deck speakers............ I aint cutting anything up.

GXE was the Type R of the Maximas, it came stripped with all the necessary stuff like engine, 4 wheels, tranny, unibody- everything else is not needed.

ah, ok. um how can i say this nicely. ur uuuummmm, fucked in the slightest way.

mike, i know that they are gonna rattle if you put them in the door. you would have to insulate the shit out of the door and put plastic spacers between the window regulator, motor and the door. it just seems as too much work.

I have seen people put small subs in the doors, but they use them as a mid-bass, not as a primary subwoofer, if you put 8" subs in the front doors and take the Boston's out of the rear, I hope you are still going to run a good pair of components in the front doors w/ the subs or else you are going to lose a lot of your high-to-mid frequencies. If you dont want to hack up the doors you can buy or make a kick panel for your subs or comopnents in the front. Or if you are worried about them rattling inside the doors, you can always construct a small "box" inside the door panel and seal the subwoofers off, but that would be much more work.
