I was going to post this, but I forgot to. This happened this past Thursday. I was heading back home from Streamwood on Barrington Rd. I was at the stop light right before 90. My car was in the middle lane, to my left is a silver Lincoln LS, and I don't remember what was on my right. Anyway, I roll to about 15mph, and then decide to give it a lil more gas. I'm trying to pass up the guy on my right, it was enough though to make my intake start growling. The guy in the LS starts to gun it, you hear his car getting louder than mine. I was like WTF?!?!?!?!?!
Fawker is basically racing me, and my car is barely at half throttle if that.
I guess i got owned by an LS :gotme:
PS I don't know if it was a V6 or V8, but I hear it would not matter either way because the car is heavy :wall:

They arent slow cars, the v8 anyway.
It is a decent sleeper actually.
Sounds like it was fun.

They are not fast, I've ran a V8 on the highway once and I had to double check that it was a V8 because I had no problem walking away from him. It was a LSE version with "quad exhaust tips" and a small body kit, I think it was a factory option.
Ive driven em cars, not impressed by them. But its one helluva car for a Ford product ! Better riding than any Ford I have driven. Too bad Ford never improved the engines and trannies and kept it as a competitor to other makes /models. Just like every decent Ford, they keep it in production for 10 years and change the headlights/tail lights durring that whole time. Which is kinda sad.

I like then LS, I still want one, but you're right Mike they have changed very little on the car. It's starting to fall behind to cheaper cars in the market.

Im pretty sure the lse is the v6??
Stock they arent that great but not the worst. I met up with someone at gld a couple months ago with an 05 v8 ls and he put a little spray on the car and was in the mid 13's
Edit: Nevermind. The lse is the v8

i remember when it first came out, and motor trend had an issue where they were comparing it to merecedes and bmws. at the time it was a good competitor. like you said though, its fallin behind.

Well they don't make the LS anymore. I think 05 was the last year of it. It sold pretty good when it came out and was avalible with a 6MT with the V6. It had everything the imports had, just needed a lil refinement in the interior department. Overall the drivetrain was pretty good.

yeah, i remember that car at gld. he ran some high 13's with the spray, i think it was a 50shot. anyway, without the spray he was like 14.3 or something with intake and exhaust.

He had nothing on that car but the spray.
Everything else was stock.
It was a 100 shot

Well they don't make the LS anymore.
Are you positive about that? A member at my country club just traded in his old one for a brand new one a couple of months ago... Speaking of which, the newest ones have the HHM effect going...
