S2000 vs. Mustang

So I was speeding down Foster at 11PM the other night. Burning some tires for fun since I have not driven hard for a while. At the light I notice a Mustang coming down. I figure it was going to be a pretty easy win. He gets up right next to me and it's a Convertible with the top up. I had the top down. To make this short.... I then heard a whining noise and I knew it was GG. 03-04 Cobra. Some old guy was driving it and we talked later. I had one passenger, launched at 7000 RPM, and he had a head start. He got me off the line by a car length and kept going. hahaha...

Nothing a SC or Turbo won't cure =D. Launching is launching. Who cares where you launch it at. Whether it's 3k or 7k.

Turbo or SC S2K, vs a Cobra with a pulley, K&N and exhaust- result Mustang still smokes ya. You realize Cobra is a 12 second car from a factory, S2K is a 14 second car from the factory. 10 second Cobras are fairly common around here.... I might be packing Ford V8 muscle after winter is over, we shall see how much I got saved up and if I can afford my kit car :)

hey that Cobra and Saleen is the only Mustangs I would consider..other than that its a Pustang. I dont know if you guys are familiar with some videos that were on the internets about 2-3 years ago posted by some guy "blades cobra" or that was the videos name. Holy shit man that guy wooped anything and everything in those videos. Havent had luck finding them as they were in a forum called Tremek.com but no more. Anyone seen em before?

03-04 Cobras are one of my favorite cars also. I was close to getting one but decided not to at the last minute. Here are some S2000 times:

STOCK block, Just InlinePRO thicker headgasket.
InlinePRO turbo kit
Nitto Drag radials 245/50/16 (stock wheels)
Driveshaft Level 2 axles
Competition clutch
Stock rear differential
InlinePRO 3" catback exhaust
560rwhp on race gas.

With this kit using 10PSI, people are getting about 350whp and running 12.2 at the track.

This probably will not beat some Cobras but hey.... S2000 weren't meant to be raced in a straight line in the 1st place. All in all, this turbo kit should make me a happy guy.

The kit is going to cost me $4000 but if I can find a used one, it will be around $3000. The install and tune will cost about $1000. So yeah.... $5000-$6000. So far the only issue is tunning. Standalone units are recommended and they have no OBDII ports and the Emanage is not very compatible with the S2000. Worst comes to worst I will be getting a Supercharger for $2500-$3000 [350whp] and will be doing the install with some people.
