me vs 97 GSR

so on my way back from streamwood tonight i had a few runs with a civic, he went the exact route that i did from barrington to 90 to 53 to palatine... about 3 runs, walked him on the first 2, and the 3rd he kept up untill i hit 5th and i walked him again.... it was fun.. he kept up with me pretty well on all three runs though.. i talked to him real quick at a stop light and found out he had a GSR engine swap, and his exact words were "what do you have done to your car, cuz i know those things arent that fast cuz i used to own one" i just chuckled and told him my three power modifications.. he looked kinda dumbfounded... it was quite funny...

I'm not that nice to ricers... I never roll down my window. Last ricer Honda attempt was a K20 swapped CRX. Public street infront of my dealership, he kept up with me pretty good from the start- i was in 2nd at 25-30MPH and got on it, when I got into 4th he was good 2 cars behind. If this was a 1st gear type of thing I would have destroyed him with my traction and awesome torque.

mike have you ever met a honda that you couldn't beat yet? i know your car is fast and your a good driver but i'm just wondering what honda setup can actually keep up with you or beat you.

i know its fast, i think i saw a post where he posted he wanted to hit 275whp with something that would of gave him 20-30hp. so he is putting down a crazy amount. but i'm sure since he works for acura and has connections here and there, he must of come across a couple hondas give him some type of challege or something of that nature.

The fastest [stock] S2000 with a timeslip was 13.6 but it was a fluke. He never ran that again. He did run 13.7's a few times. Some have gotten 13.8 and many have gotten 14 flat. I am really interested to see what Mike will run.

There is one Honda I didnt run and I think it would dust me. Its got a huge turbo on it- stick out through the hood, its got mean slicks in the front and skinnies in the rear. I saw some big fat asian/philipino dude driving it on 355 once. I was in my Legend or Altima driving home from work and he took off next to me like nothing. This is like a red 96-99 Civic hatchback.... it looked like it handled like ass as it bounced up and down all over the road.

Why would you drive with big slicks on the highway anyways ? I seen that car by streets of woodfield once also. I was impressed by the way it took off, but I think I could still out-do it ALL motor but with a 4.0L big bore VQ. After all it should put down around 340WHP with the right amount of tuning.

I ran a S14 with a SR swap and it looked like he upped the boost quite alot on the last run as we where pretty much even to 130. 2 runs before that I wasted him in 1st and then 2nd run he did a lil better but still fell behind.

SR swapped 240SXs are not impressive to say the least. I wouldn't wanna have one.
