I've owned 3 Macs since 1993. My most recent one - going strong for 5 years now is a G4/733 tower. I used to be hardcore anti-PC until about 5 years ago. Now, the differences are very small. You can do the same with multimedia on a Win-PC that you can do with a Mac... all i'm saying is that using a Mac isn't so much a statement or advantage as it used to be back in the day.

that's the thing, i have been using it for video editting... i check out the stats and after all the required software for the classes are installed, there is only 4 gigs left to use... if mac wants to support our school, at least make sure each depaertment has what it needs... first day of class and the scanners weren't being recognized on them...

60 GB HD (only 2 GB free...)

so, how's that for a video editting computer?

well you won't be editing much video with only 2 gigs free. I can't imagine how slow it runs with only 128MB of ram. I have a G4/733 with 1 gig of ram and I'll bet it smokes that G4... 5 years man

lets just say it took 2 hours to compile and export a 3 minute video... i now use windows movie maker at home and it takes the same amount of time for a 15 minute video... not to mention that i can't even capture more than 11 minutes of video from the camera onto these POSs...

sucks... that's actually a good machine. you can max it out at 1.5GB ram. I have two 80GB drives in mine, so space isn't much of an issue. Problem is that you're using virtual ram on the same drive where you're doing editing... and with only 2 gigs left, it's probably all fragmented, not to mention that Mac OS X requires an absolute min of 128 physical ram just to run the damn OS.
