Soo according to everyone in leOrg every 3rd gen should come prewired for power seats but appearantly my pos didnt...At the moment I have the seats out and carpet lifted a bit to see if I can find any connections..I plan on removing a little more to see if its hidden deep down. If no prewiring is available I'm gonna have to tap/hardwire my new power leather seats from somewhere and was wondering where would be the best source considering it has to be always on.

Thanks In Advanced

it's just that one connector isn't it? The other would be for heated seats...

Well that one is seatbelt related..and the red wire is something infowire and I are working on since we dont see any power for the seats, its tappin from driver seat to passenger once we hardwire the driver seat..hope thats a good choice.

So I'm gonna go finish working on them seats...any ideas where to tap power from? I'll just need power as ground is taken care of by the seat rail

Run the power from the fuse box. there has to be a open slot there for power seats.

For the carpet- Simple Green does wonders.

I got it working last night and tapped from cig lighter..ran wire under center armrest console thingie..and then split it for both seats...they work perfect so far :) Simply green huh...I do have a Bissell shampooer...maybe I'll spray simple green for like 15 minutes then shampoo it normally...think that should do?

kinda surprised how it actually wasnt prewired.. :( oh well not anymore :)

DON'T USE THE CIG LIGHTER !

For some reason people LOOOOOOOVE tapping into that- thinking its some ungodly power source. I seen people hook up coffee makers, cell phones AND radar detectors to those things and melt the fuses like nothing.

Run it to the fuse box where there is a NICE FAT wire and its got power ALL the time. You should be able to move the seat even if the key is not ON. With the CIG lighter you will need to have the key on in the ACC position to move the seats. If you had a midget GF it would be annoying to put the key in and move the seat back EVERY time she drove...... thats why they make the seats have power ALL the time.

lol yea...luckily my g/f is 5'5 and drives with the seat back just as much as I do..but on the "melting fuse" part you're scaring me...will it really melt it even though the power seats are hardly used? If so I'll move it but damn didnt think it'd be that bad.

you should also use a thicker wire for power.
I'd run a 12 gauge for powering the seats.

I believe 12 gauge is what it has at the moment...doesnt that red wire in the first or 2nd pic look like 12 gauge to you?

I thought it was 18 or 16 gauge, felt like 18 to me

ColombianMax

its def thicker than 18...well anyhow its working for now, I'll look into tappin where Mike said but for now its staying like that until I can pull everything out again to shampoo leCarpet then rewire with better wire if indeed it is thinner than 12awg

ya that wire looks pretty thin...id say more of a 16 than 12. and mike is right, run it to the fuse box, not the cig lighter.
