what amp will power this sub the SW7200? will the amp you suggest run the sub at 500 watts or more towards the 1500 watt end? I assume running it on more power it will hit harder, but it is good to set it to 1500 watts( getting an amp that feeds 1500 continous?) help me out here, Im noobs in this

if ur running 1 of these subs...you need an amp that is 2 ohm stabe when bridged and that can produce 450 watts rms (continiously)

so is the extra (max) 1500 watts, headroom for a spike in power or something? can I get an amp that lets say will run at 1000 RMS? and does this 1000watt RMS amp have to be stable at 2 Ohm as well?

no u need to get an amp that put sout 450-500 watts rms continiously... the peak levels dont really matter....

if u get a amp that is 1000 rms (continious) then ull destroy the speaker... if ur only running 1....

continious/ RMS means that the amp will put that power (450-500watts) continiously...

peak means that it will do 1300 for a micro second at 14.4 volts...

Bad choice, not only is the name on the box some BS I never heard of (being in car audio for 12 years or so) it doesn't put out nowhere near its rated 800W RMS power.

I have this powering my MY'06 Eclipse DVC 2Ohm final load Titanium 12"....

Sounds great when pushed at 14.4V, no distortion and with built in fans and large heat sinks it never shut off me during the summer months. According to its test sheet it put out 624W RMS at 14.4V. Plenty of power to rattle your teeth out.

Not bad, I paid 600 for just the subs plus another 70 bux for the box.

Eclipse subs sound great. Titanium ones are regarded as one of the best subs out there on the market, in the top 5 along with the JL W7s. I got a great deal on 2 12" Titaniums and kept one and sold the other to a coworker, so it was only 300 per sub.
