save your gas man, your prolly beating the hell outta your car and you're going to regret it later. save all of your racing for a track meet, its not worth getting a stupid ticket for $1500 or whatever someone got ticketed for. You can use that money for modding your max and putting in a y-pipe or something. its not worth racing seriously. you're lucky that up until this point you haven't hurt anyone else or yourself.

but what i dont get is that the thread thing says post your races... i was thinkin any street or track. having said that any one complainin about street racing has never been. its not no fast and furious type stuff but there is organization. i'll paint a picture for u... midnight factory roads= no cross traffic what so ever. i been hitting da races for 3 years not once has there been a crash becuase of da race. and everyone sacred of cops all da cops do is just flash there lights and drive the crowd where it starts all over again. i feel yall about the racing a grocery getter and about the danger but eh as long as i drive sober and its not in a buzzy street it aint a problem. and it is second car bought it my self and 1st car was hit and run while it was parked thank you very much-- n00b.

I will say this right now. Most of us have done our share of racing and are done with it. Most of us already know what a Maxima can do, and can't do. An automatic Maxima is not much to brag about unless it's boosting or spraying. Most N/A cars will loose to a car that is supercharged or turbo'd...about 15% of cars out there are boosted stock, and that number is rapidly decreasing due to inexperienced drivers. If 2 cars are of the same horse power race the manual will beat it 90% of the time. Keep this in mind next time you think a Maxima will win a race.

Why is racing from a roll stupid ? Some cars just cant put the power down- too much of it. I might get pulled by a WRX on a stop light race, but that WRX better be packing some crazy mods to run with me on the highway.

Eighter way, I don't do street races much..... if someone in a Maxima revs on me, it better sound boosted (SC whine for instance) cause I am not wasting my gas to let the guy watch my tail lights, same goes for 99% of the cars on the road.

Why is it that most RWD muscle cars won't even try to run a EVO, S4 or STi from a dig ? Because even a terrible driver can rev it up, pop the clutch and take off on them like crazy ! Give me a modified S4 and I will run anything you throw at me from a light.

i'm not condemning street races to a point where someone should get banned over it...but it's just the safety issue i think people are bringing up... and i'm sure ALL OF US on here has raced on the streets at some point in time... if there is anyone on here that is to say that they haven't... then they're lying.. hell, my mom has even increased her speed from 5 over to 20 over just so i can't get into the lane in front of her... my innocent mother...

There are autos out there that can launch from a dig^^
You need is a higher stall torque converter, some gears, and get the rev's up enough and just release the brakes. Of course I am thinking in terms of a RWD car more so, FWD good luck with the traction. I think speedinc has an auto camaro turboed that runs 8's and leaves pretty hard from a dig. Get the right setup and some auto's out there will put a stick shift car to shame.

Racing from a dig is hard.

Tires play a big role in determination of how HARD the car will leave the line. I can mount up a set of slicks on my Maxima and put a AWD car to shame on street tires at a drag strip. MOST AWD cars we talk bout is Scoobies and EVOs, which don't have much power unless they are boosting, and otherwise they lag a bit and don't have the power of a larger V6 or V8 AWD. Perfect launch car would have to be a S4. They generate ALOT of power, and they can take off like you wouldn't belive.

I simply Can't compete with my FWD street tire car with such car as a EVO from a dig. No matter how hard I try a decent driver in a AWD car will eat me alive from a dig. Now 70MPH 3rd gear roll on run on the highway to around 150MPH, this will show the cars true potential.... it will show its top end power advantage. This is why BMWs are such bad "dig" cars, they are all top end run kinda car. Geared for top end acceleration for the AutoBahn. LT1 powered stock cars are pretty fast- on the street, but get one on the highway and they tend to fall flat on their face once they are forced to run past 5KRPM. I have ran countless stock or lightly moded Impala SS LT1s on the highway in my Maxima, they just can't hang past 90MPH.

the reason that we say that it is gay is because the chances of hurting someone are high... the fuck do i care if it was the driver that was the only one whom got hurt, but he usually winds up taking someone with. it is his choice to race and not any1 elses so if he hurts himself then that is his own dumbass fault, but when some1 else gets hurt in the procees shit is not cool.the bottom line is that street racing is ghey due to the high probability of someone getting hurt... take it to the track...as far as the above situation, we are just discussing diff scenarios.
