Who has the fastest Maxima in Chicago?

Ovaltine Jenkins
01-30-2006, 11:18 PM
Probably slimer, he's the only one I know of with a FI. I know Ferhan was working on a boosted max but he scrapped it for a vq30 in a 240 project or something like that. I know that slimer is most likely in the mid 13s with the stuff he has done. As fo NA, I don't know, I know the 4th gens there is Duck, myself, and fishstick that are all around the 14.7-14.8 mark. Of course neal has his 500+hp/600tq max that he got from hal, he's in michigan though.

I know that there is another guy named Steve, i think his handle name is Stevechicago on the org, to that extent, he as well is supercharged thats if he still has it. Last time i remember he was running low 13s. And then there is Alex Quiroz with his 00' Max, he is definantly hinding something from us, but i dunno what numbers he will be putting out once its completed. I myself, my personal best is a 14.8, which is nothing special.

Biggs
01-31-2006, 11:26 AM
i ran a 14.8 too. i'm sure i could have done better. and internetautomart no that's not a keybaord problem

Brian

figured it wasn't.
Just wanted to laugh

of course its my car with the fastest times... its no maxima though,,, I have a Geo Metro with a Boss Motor in it that runs 6 seconds... One problem though is the frame flies off every time i try to run it...

^not for long... saving for cams. unless you get that 3.5 swap lol

Ovaltine Jenkins
02-02-2006, 12:17 PM
Get the cams, and be even slower. Do you even do any research before you blurt garbage out? WHat cams are you getting?
Yes, duck is the fastestN/A chicagoland maxima, on the track.

Ninos_Maxima
02-02-2006, 04:34 PM
I wanna get JWT cams

Ovaltine Jenkins
02-02-2006, 04:39 PM
I guess you didn't do your research.

Biggs
02-02-2006, 05:41 PM
wait you have a 3.0 right?? why not put that money that you're putting into the cams to buy something else that'll give you alot more performance...i think cams are just a waste of money unless you have done every mod possible out there and cam is the only thing left.

Ovaltine Jenkins
02-02-2006, 05:48 PM
They move the power higher in the rpm range while sacrificing low end TQ, a really dumd mod unless you have FI.

Brian
02-02-2006, 05:52 PM
sounds like some decently designed cams are needed.

Ovaltine Jenkins
02-02-2006, 05:56 PM
I doubt it can be done for a 4th gen. We don't have any variable cam timing stuff. You either get cams that give nice gains only in the high end, only low end, or mild gains all around.

Brian
02-02-2006, 06:05 PM
I'd settle for the mild all around personally, but no cams are available for my variable timed VE

Biggs
02-02-2006, 06:11 PM
woahh 4th don't got the variable cam woooahh didn't know that.

Brian
02-02-2006, 06:17 PM
that's part of the reason some consider the 4th gen the worst gen

Greeneyes
02-02-2006, 06:23 PM
Chitwista on the org had a fast Maxima but hes running on NOS he had 13s runs I think didnt he? My personal best was a 14.7.

Biggs
02-02-2006, 06:29 PM
did you run it with 18's? and 17 degree timing and you cai and ur other stuff auto or stick?

Greeneyes
02-02-2006, 06:35 PM
No it was stock back then, well except for the coilovers. Im an auto. =) I got the time slip in my car still.

Brian
02-02-2006, 06:45 PM
The 18s would probably slow down your times

Mr.Duck
02-02-2006, 07:56 PM

def slow him down

Brian
02-02-2006, 08:12 PM
in theory you could get 18s that are lighter than the stock 15s.
I just don't see anyone putting them on a max

Ninos_Maxima
02-02-2006, 11:20 PM
I guess you didn't do your research.
heheehe thnx dave just used my search button... i need to buy some spacers asap!!!

i wanna hit high 14's how my max is currently... just a filter... you just gota get the 60'... iono how to describe it but when i get the clutch to lock up right. all i hear is a small churp and feel a lot of g's. can anyone else churp into 4th?

Ovaltine Jenkins

That won't matter. You can have 18" wheels that are lighter than the stock wheels but you'll still be slower. Why? Most of the weight of the 18s is in the outside of the rim which is further from the center of the hub than it would be on a 15 or 16" wheel. It's a no win situation.

NO, you shouldn't chirp 3rd either. All it means is that you have terrible traction.

Ninos_Maxima
02-03-2006, 05:52 AM
all my friends are honduhers, they all like chirping the rare 3rd

Ovaltine Jenkins
02-03-2006, 09:39 AM
Cause your friends as well as you are morons. Act your age not like a 12 year old who who just stole someones car.

Mr.Duck
02-03-2006, 10:17 PM
do your research and you will learn that chirping gears just means that you have bad traction, and it will slow your times down. I remember the night i was running consistant 14.8's and my 14.7's the one time i chirped into 3rd was one of my worst times..

Ovaltine Jenkins
02-03-2006, 10:58 PM
Yeah, thats what I said, but you know ninos so you know that no matter what we say to him he'll think that mucho wheel spin and chirping gears = super mad powerful car, yO.

Mr.Duck
02-04-2006, 02:24 AM
Yeah, thats what I said, but you know ninos so you know that no matter what we say to him he'll think that mucho wheel spin and chirping gears = super mad powerful car, yO.

haha i guess it could make sense to certain ppl.. if you chirp/spin your tires that means there is too much power going to the wheelz yo!

Xmax

I spin all thru the gears when i accelerate hard................

what did you run? was that a 1/4 mile run cuz your trap speed seems kind of low... come to the track with us!

Ovaltine Jenkins
02-24-2006, 09:45 PM
he only ran to ~80, don't worry, he's faster than you. How could it be a 1/4 run whwn it only took ~10 seconds?

Fishstick
02-24-2006, 09:59 PM
yeah, his car is really fast for a N/A. I reckon low 14s.

DasTeknoViking

I don't do drag racing, ever since I went to Byron like 2 summers ago. It was bout 100F on the track, my VIAS was dead, I had less mods and just got my Fidanza installed- makes launching the car very hard as its ez to spin like crazy or just bog like crazy. I used to carry around boat load of tools in the trunk also, my best that day was a very dissapointing 15.1@95MPH.

There was no launch in this video just slow start and when the RPMs got up to 2400RPM I punched it to the floor in 1st, let if bounce off the rev limiter a few times and pop it in 2nd, 3rd gear I started to let off from wide open at 75MPH and stopped completly at 80MPH. Even with this really shitty run I managed to go to 60 in 5.9 sec according to my timer from this run. Imagine what I could do with a set of slicks ;) 1/4 mile doesn't excite me, even if the car is capable of runing mid 13s on slicks.

ive only been to the track once. bone stock 96degrees out and what tured out to be my very first blown maf, i think im on #6 now, my best was 15.7 and it was my first time at the track driving stick and i really had no idea what i was doing.

that offically makes me the slowest one here doesnt it? well um, ah Damn1t! i suck at life.

Brian
03-17-2006, 03:29 PM
nope, you are still faster than colombianmax.
