i want to know if there is a difference if i use Nissan MATIC "D" or if i get Dextron III??....is there any difference between them because why pay so much for the same kind???? well any help would be great
When I had an auto, I put in Dextron III and it worked fine for 25K miles...Xander has that trans now and as far as I know, it's working fine for him.

just get a GOOD quality Dexron. the cheaper ones have too much ash in them which causes premature failure of the trans

so the nissan matic "D" is anything special and i shouldnt just get that kind because it is from nissan????....well thats good cause that tranny fluid was super expensive

nissan matic D is like $4-$5 bux a quart, i dont know how much dextron 3 is, but thats cheap compared to other transmission fluids that nissan has.

im just gonna say, nissan reccomends using matic D, but your out of warranty, so use whatever you would like.
but yes, dextron 3 is supposed to be the same stuff.

the nissan dealership that i used to work with next door did the tranny flushes with mazda dex-3 fluid. =P but sold bottles of D matic.
no failures pretty much over there but then again with trans nearing 100k if it blows up, its normally due to a lot of random reasons. abuse, fluid, heat,

Technically there should be no difference...however, heard the saying you get what youn pay for?
There's a bigger risk that a generic/general tranny fluid will have more crap in it than something OEM. If shit goes wrong, you can always blame Nissan for actually following their rules.

ok, oem fluid price is...........$4.66 a quart plus tax. last i checked some good dextron was like near $3.80-4.50. depending on retailer, and not counting generic products. so your basically saving yourself a couple bux.
