View Full Version : Track Headcount
I just spoke to Craig again and this fee might put a dent in the fee to race at the Autobahn. We also need $2000 for insurance which is a fee that they need.
I need to know of how many people that are willing to run their cars at the track event at the Autobahn on June 26th. A non-refundable deposit is needed of $50. You will be able to get refund if a emergency occurs with a very good reason behind it. As soon as I set up a paypal account to receive payments for the track event I will let you guys know when and where to send the money. Once payment is received you will get a email stating that you have paid the deposit. I highly recomend that you print the email in case any bookeeping problems occur when it is time to pay the rest of the fee on the day of the event. The rest of the fee will depend on how many people sign up for the track event. The rest of the fee that is due on the day of the event will vary from $0 to $100 depending on how many people we get on this. We need to come up with $1250 for the North course or $1500 for the South course by early May to guarantee a spot at the Autobahn. Insurance is going to cost us $2000 for the entire day.
So all together for the fee to rent the North course is:
$5000 + $2000 = $7000
South Course
$6000 + $2000 = $8000
I am just showing you guys where all the money is going to. So get your friends on this as well and this should be a fun day at the Autobahn. I'll update the the list daily to show how many people are willing to get on this event.

It won't be restrcicted to only Nissan. I believe Xander will eb posting this is MWIR or whatever it's called now. We need more cars to lower the cost. we're willing to 'sacrifice' the track to get more people to join and lower prices.

I think its BS if people won't come because the track is nolonger going to happen. If they are not racing then WTF ? It just hurts US in the long run, as we all wanted to race around the track, and the .org guys...... yeah they are basically buncha goldtooths.
Brian

it definately will affect the amount of people showing. I think matt will bail for 1.
I did finally want to meet him in person :(
Here are a few things that has been talked about from last nights meeting.
Tents - Covered
Food - Need pricing
Permit - Covered
Logo - Work in Progress
Track (Roadcourse)- ? Headcount looking dismal.
Hotel - Covered
Maxus packet - I'll be putting it together as time goes by.
Tshirts - Need pricing
Trophies - Pricing and amount of trophies
Beer - $3 to have a cup, kegs will be used. Also wrist bands will be given to people that paid for a cup, they must have a wrist band to receive and drink alcohol.
Might be looking for a portable dyno, might have it on the same day as the track day at Byron. Just need pricing if its worth getting. If not we will contact a few places that has a dyno.

You can't have a track day for 12 people, unless you guys don't mind chipping in 400-500 bux a person.....
It just blows that we have a such small showing of people from the .org. I think its the fact that people see the previous MAXUS and see that nothing really went on durring that event- 25 cars showed up. If this Maxus turns out better than ever.... who knows what next year will be like ? Eighter way it looks like it will be the biggest Chicago Maxima BBQ in a long time....

Alcohol is NOT allowed at all forest preserves.
have we checked to make sure the grove we'll be in is alcohol friendly?

Alcohol policy from the cook county forest preserve website:
5. The sale of alcoholic beverages in any form is prohibited. Glass beverage containers are not permitted on Forest Preserve District property. Please note that the consumption of alcohol upon or within 50 feet of any roadway, parking area or entranceway is prohibited.

10 dollars all you can drink beer then uppon entrance. Who is going to check if we are selling it anyways ?
Can't ever count on the .orgs attendance... 1 50L keg will be enough for a few people.
Mr Grey

Alcohol policy from the cook county forest preserve website:
We're not selling beer per se. Alcohol is allowed as long as it's not by the road, as you linked. We're asking for donations for booze, just like we normally do for food.
Brian

Personally, I'd do a prepaid all you can drink amount that is paid before the person enters the forest preserve property.
Last thing we need is some county mounties to come up and give us shit and potentially arrest people because of it.
if cash changes hands it's a sale.

150 bux for a 50L keg of Becks or Heineken. Tap is extra 50 bux which will be refunded if you bring the keg and tap back :)
They told me I need to give em like a week heads up.... for Beck's that is.
I will get the keg.
We will be checking id's when handing out beer. People that paid to drink from the keg will get a wristband that will be put on by us. This definantly will reduce the chance of any underage drinking.

What the heck is all the .org bashing for? Maxus was originally an org function not a CMC event but it seems that it is turning into a Chicago area meet. Personally I feel that a lot of the threads and posts that are on this site ought to have been on the org. That's the only way we'll get a good turnout.
Brian, you're right. The only reason Matt would show would be if there was going to be a track day. I was looking forward to that.
Given the short time till Maxus, I would suggest getting things set in stone (meet and greet specifics, drag race specifics, show classes and judging criteria etc) ASAP and post often on the org. If I wasn't on this site, I would be wondering why there is so little info in the Maxus thread on the org. Truth be told, I'd be wondering if it was going to happen at all.
I know a few people have put in a lot of time and effort and I am thankful for that. Make no mistake, I'll be there and I'll do what I can to encourage all the org members I can to be there too.

That's exactly the issue. Everyone, check the org thread. Interest is dwindling. If Maxus is going to be successful, everyone on CMC needs to post there and soon.

If you guys still want to do track, today is the deadline to get your $$$ in for the SE-R Convention. They have the North side of AutoBahn reserved, 175 bux gets you in.
I registered, I am a track junkie.

Yes its free to watch.... but I do not know if there is a PARKING FEE in there. I don't think so but I would bring a few bux to be sure.
This was your guys' only chance to do track event.... Sentra guys have plenty of spaces open. This is why track event for Maxus was canceled, not enough participation.
If you bring a helmet SN95 rated, you can go along for rides with people.
No back seat riders in my car, I'm going to run with my racing seats and 5 point harness that attaches to the rear- where the rear seat goes. My brother is most likely going to be the only one running with me...... interior gutted of course. I take my racing seriously, Ford F350 with a enclosed trailer for me :)

there was no fee when me and paul went to the z event so i guess there will be no fee... sounds like fun... gotta see if i have the day off...
Mike maybe you can gain some interest on the guys at the SER convention to get a track meet going since you proably know some of them. But if the Roadcourse doesnt go thru there is Chicagoland indoor racing, no need to be worried about breaking or crashing into things on your on expense.

Most of the SE-R guys, the old timers with the old cars just sit incognito. A few of them are active in racing. They have a huge list- 100 people coming in. Not many of they will be out racing on the track. I think we have like 35 cars running at the event.

What i find funny is that people who drive older SE-R's and so on will go the distance to a meet like this, while the maxima guys won't. There is SE-R guys coming from NYC, FL, CA and other far places. These guys arent driving comfortable midsize sedans, they are driving in stripped out, loud, stiff cars. You would think that the maxima guys would have more $$ and wouldn't have a problem making it out, but i guess not. Nevertheless, MAXUS should be fun, chi-town max owners are a nice group of people!
..........end of rant...............

Maxima.org has too many people who say one thing and do another... plus lets face it, Maxima.org has about 20x more ricers than the SR20 forum. Most if not all SR20 cars are nicely modified examples, very few of them are big into systems or huge 20+ wheels. I see alot of "bling" on the .org.
SE-R conventions have been around for almost 10 years now, each year hosted by a different region. Its funny how their attendance will probably eclipse our MAXUS by 2 times if not more, yet they stopped making SR20s in 2002 with the last G20...... ratio of SR20 powered cars vs VQ30,35 cars is in the VQ favor by alot ! Shows you where the true enthusiasts are....
I will still attend both conventions, because I have alot of old friends from the SR forum, one of which I know via AIM for the last 11 years and never meet him in person. Serban is chilln over my house for the SE-R convention.
