alrite detail whores

I picked up some 17's and well they aren't in the best of shapes, 2 of them have signs of clear coat peeling and such, tons of rash and overall just plain out dirty. I wanted to spend some time trying to make them look better before they go on the car. what products would be best?

well obviously i cant cure rash and the clear coat issues but maybe i can make it look a little better. I've heard dish soap, baking soda mixture with water and clay . then a nice coat of wax should do wonders. Looking for detailed products that i can get off the shelf or order online. worst comes to worst i'll just paint them black.

Personally, I like P21S. I used it on my Volks and with minimal rubbing, it got all the crap off. Also try Simple Green.

P21S thats some of your zaino stuff?

i'm worried some might be too agressive.

It's an organic solvent so it's not super aggressive. It isn't part of the Zaino line. I think it's made by the same people who make S100 (the wax)

yea i just googled it. doesn't look like there is a local place that carries them. i'm in the mood to pick something up tomorrow and play with, got a recommendation for something off the shelfs of say autozone, pepboys, maybe wal-mart =P

You can get Simple Green at Walmart. Don't bother with any wheel cleaners from Autozone or similar outlet...they're either crap or they're literally corrosive and will eat the clearcoat on your wheels.

next to no luck at walmart for simple green wheel cleaner.

i saw the simple green all purpose spray bottle but i googled and found simple green wheel cleaner in a spray can style one. a little harder to find. how about meguair's wheel cleaner gold touch or w/e spray bottle. its been then a no name crap for on. it "guarantees" statifiation and wont harm wheels. i'm going to hit up a couple more stores and if not luck i might go with this one.

Regular Simple Green does the trick most of the time..... Simple Green works on pretty much EVERYTHING.

I used Castrol Wheel Cleaner- works pretty good. But on my wheels I get bout 2-3 car washes out of the bottle. Sucks balls for 6 bux or whatever a bottle.

because the amount of rash is beyond what i can sand by hand. i'll pay you or tuan $20 to sand paint and all that good stuff. since you guy do it like a daily thing on those sk2 wheels.

how many of what do you typically need. i'm either going with dupilcolor Graphite or black all over. its a 5 spoke wheel like those on the sk2 but it has a 2inch lip.

getting the tires unmounted next week and i'm going to try and sand off and bondo whatever rash i can then probaly going swing them by your place.
