View Full Version : Me vs Grand Am

I was coming home at about 2am, and this grand am is standing at a stoplight. I stop next to him, he looks over, opens window, and asks for some "drag" :) He was foreign, so I tell him OK. Light turns green, spin a little in 1st, put in 2nd and dead even, shift to 3d and I'm gone. Kept pulling away very hard. Would be like 3+ cars in a 1/4 mile, maybe more. That grand am is 3.4 L so I thought it would be a nice match, but that thing is slow! After that he turned left and I kept going, was a nice little race. BTW I'm 97 5spd.

Nice run. What kind of mods do you have? How about you stop racing in the street and race in the 1/4 for real this Saturday at our track meet =D.

I was stock when I raced the grand am, but now I have short ram intake. What track you going to? I would come :) BTW what mods do you have?

Go to the meets section. We are going to Bryon this Saturday! I have pretty much the same mods as you [intake], but I'm looking for a stock airbox.

Right now Biggs and I are doing the VQ35 swap and as soon as school is over [1 month], I will be dropping the VQ30DE-K motor into mines with the Emanage Ultimate.

I kinda agree, I mean with a 5 spd you can easily take out the Grand Prix's 3.8 stock ( prolly have a little harder time with the GTP though so be careful ). Hell, you should be beating stock Mustang GT autos!

Even with an auto. I remember back when I was younger and stupider, I was at a light with a gt2 grand am. Some dude with a hot blonde in the passanger seat. He's in the right lane I'm in the left, light turns green and we take off normally. Guy punches it, I count to 3 and punch it, half a block later he's at my rear bumper and the blonde is laughing.

The dick turned like 2 streets later and I know he didn't live there cause I lived around there and I've never seen that car before.

The Grand AM Gt's with their 3.4 Ram air , chrome wheels ... may look intimidating, but they only make like 170 Hp. An auto max should be able a good match for one, not to mention a 5spd.

Thats incorrect, Dave shouldn't make mistakes. He's not programmed to make them. On the other hand I also had an encounter with a GrandAm GT but this one looked like a 96 type of body style, unfortunately I wasnt able to pass him up even though I was ahead of him..there was a parked car and I was too afraid to turn hard in front of him cuz of my rear struts lol I probably would've lost control so I just slowed down instead. fucker thought he was all that afterward, I got him at the next light though :)
