ill start from the beginning. over the past week or so, i have noticed an intermittant and sporadic rattle when the clutch is engaged. fast forward to today,i stopped about 120mi from indy to get gas. when i went to take off, it was hard to get into first and there was a hint of grinding. then it was fine after that. later i was getting off the interstate and i put the car in neutral. and when i went to put it into gear it wouldnt. i wrestled with it and got it into 4th.but i got stopped at the first light and i couldnt get it into gear. so i pulled over. the car wouldnt go to gear at all, the clutch pedal dropped about 2in, the clutch fork is wobbling at idle and the clutch fork is angled slightly. i can get the car into gear when its off thou. my money is on the throw out bearing sliping off the clutch fork.
if im right, i know this is a long shot but, is there any possible way to put it back on w/o pullin the trans, via the starter hole and clutch fork hole?

Ouch... Sorry to hear that dude. I'm not sure if you can access the TOB via those openings, but you might be able to see what's going on inside through the fork hole.
I'm guessing you had the car towed?

Weird.... I know you have a 6spd so the starter is on the bottom.
I would pull it off as its so easy to do and mess around with the throw out bearing. You should be able to see it from there.
Make sure you have clutch fluid.....

so i pulled the starter, no fcukin way can get in there. pulled the boot around the cluthc fork, it was extremely hard to see, but it appeared that there was no tob on there, i tried to stick my fingers in (lol) and feel for it, but they werent long enough. but the slave works fine, so that can be ruled out. looks like im headin towards trans drop #7

I was just thinking about how your pedal was sitting when I drove the car..
Would it help at all if you used all 6spd equipment? (6spd clutch MC, 6spd clutch pedal)
I'm having trouble picturing how the TOB would fall off though. Doesn't it slide along the input shaft? There would be no way for it to fall off.

apparently, since i used an exedy tob, there has been problems with them. several people said the tabs actually broke off.

Weird, I have had mine for like 70K miles now and I have no issues. The TB is very similar from what I noticed on doing a 5.5 gen and 5th gen clutches back to back in the same day.

Yay another SPEC clutch failure.... I never recomend them to anyone. I put on in a car once, slipped on the 1st drive and never stopped.

My Spec stage 3 has been good to me when I had it.. I liked it. Maybe that's a bootleg Spec.

so what are your guys recommendations on what to do? im still under warranty, but i cant leave the car at where its at, torn apart waiting. can i take out all the springs and drive like that for a week or so til i get the new one?
also, i still got the 3.0 spec stage 3 that terry was refering too. the pp will bolt up but i havent compared it to the 3.5 to see if that is a possiblity. does anyone know if thats doable?

Hell, if that works i'd keep the stage 3 in there... That disk is good for 350+ lb ft of tq I believe.

465 to be specific. the disc has a decent amount of life left on it.
