I was driving to work yesterday and I spotted a dark green late 90's/early00's pathfinder. It had an SE badge, and below the badge is said "supercharged". Did they make a supercharged pathfinder? And what does a supercharger do?

No supercharger comes stock. That thing was added on. Supercharger is like a turbo except it runs on a pulley belt instead of exhaust gases. Basically it has more power.

xterra's and i think frontiers HAD OEM superchargers on them. i think they were 3.3L with a eaton blower if i recall correctly. rated at a little over 200hp and these were i think early 00's

Bolting on a SC on a VG is fairly simple, Nissan offered the blower option on the Frontier and Xterras, it wasn't too fast thou. It moved alot better than a normal VG33E with only 170HP. Engine code is VG33ER- with a few mods, it will be lil quicker than the VQ40DE powered Frontiers and Xterras. One thing for sure, it will be more reliable.

Stillen sells a SC for the newer VQ40DE powered trucks.

The pathfinders had different engine huh? For some reason I thought they were the VQ's.

This was definately a pathfinder, so did the guy put on the SC tag himself? I think it was in red. And did Nissan make a pathfinder SE?
