yeah, you hit the front crash sensor...its like right behind the bumper.....
like greg said, its not alot of damage, but its going to cost about $2500 in parts to fix....airbag and brain box are the most expensive..everything else is only a few hundred a piece.

Dude when some bitch just scratched my Max, I called the cops and practically verbally assulted her - because she wanted to run.
ALWAYS call the cops for shit like this. You might be fucked now.

maaan, I know how you feel. DOne it 3 times. One time had only liability insurance and threw the car on the dumpster.
But Ive seen these bodyshops work the car so good that you cant tell where it was hit.
One way or another the insurance will pay but will give you headache for sure for no report

^^^they are a bunch of assholes.....
they try to use the cheapest shop they can find, and watch out, cuz they like to use reman, or aftermarket parts.....ie, bumper covers, fenders...
the aftermarket stuff never fits like oem, and it looks like shit.

If you rear ended the guy in front of you, it's your fault /thread. You'll be paying for the rental car repair as well (did you exchange info with the other driver?)

:werd: if you rear end 99.9% of the time you are at fault.

unless u get rear ended and your rear end someone else
Brian
09-01-2007, 10:45 PM
nope, you are still at fault in most case.
following to closely is normally the charge

Just one airbag ? If the passenger one popped it would be a TON of cash to fix. The dash would require to be removed and replaced.
Pass bags are usually more than the driver's + the dashboard and labor on top of that all.

^^^yeah, most modern cars now have like dual stage front airbags....kind of an awsome feature....saves alot of money...
Sorry to hear that man. But I'm glad you are ok, and at least the damage is not that bad.
I remember when I was backing out I hit a rental car that tried to go around me. Stupid bitch tried to blame it on me when I was already somewhat out of my parking spot. We filed a police report, but there was no court needed and what not. Thank god the cop that filed the report I used to work with him at Carson Piere and he was cool as hell. There after, the rental company kept on sending me letters stating I should pay for the damages. I kept ignoring most of the letters and finally I called them up and said that I don't owe shit and was going to contact my lawyer (when I really didn't) if they didn't stop sending me the letters stating that I owe them money. After that they stopped. But from there on out, looks like I won't be renting a car from Budget anytime soon, they might ask me for their money. lol

Sorry to hear Steven. Accidents are never fun..
oh btw, with the whole 99.9% of it being your fault if you're sandwiched between cars, it's not true. It depends on the situation. If you are all driving way too closely and you hit each other it's one thing depending on the traffic condition and what not but if you're stopped and then a car slams into you and then you hit the car in front of you, then it's the rear car's fault.

yea i know a lotta gm cars have sensors that turn off the pass airbag if no one is sitting in the pass seat....im guessing the 6th gen has this too.

oh man that sucks.
you and the other person not reporting it makes it bad...FOR BOTH OF YA.
your probably screwed on having your insurance company cover most of the work.
and the other guy is screwed...this is IF yall did'nt exchange info.
he's screwed because the retal company is gonna be like:
what the hell did you do to the car?!.
he'll have no proof and he'll have to come outta pocket.
so don't only think your screwed.
he is too!
and look at it this way.
your fine no injuries and what not.
and from the looks of the car: it's still drivable.
