I'm going to be installing a Y-pipe on my Maxima very soon. Since the car has about 165k miles on it I thought maybe I'd replace the cat as well. However the stock cat has given me no troubleat all. This raises two questions; should I bother replacing what may be a perfectly good but hi milage cat? If so what should I replace it with, an OEM cat or an aftermarket hi flow? This car is still a daily driver so emissions are a concern. This is a 91 se 5spd. I await your advice.

Leave the stock cat, no advantages with going with aftermarket. BTW, an oem, dealer cat converter is somewhere around $800.

I believe I paid $80 for my cat already installed with 2 years/25,000 warranty. I'm not looking for performance so I dont care..its a 91 dude...do you really need something incredibly oem?

Leave it, but if you have to change it, go aftermarket. It will be cheaper and you still should pass emissions.
