Who wants to go? It is going to be perfect temps and no rain in site.
I had my car tuned yesterday and want to see what it will do.

And its a weekday so it will be empty there hopefully.

You're right Jason....it would be a good day. Hope you have good runs....what are you boosting now with the tune?

10-23-2007, 02:23 PM
Thanks man.

I think it peaks around 18.5psi and tapers to around 14-15 towards redline.
He did some more tweaking after he told me that so it might be a little different, but the car is worlds different than before the tune. I was scared driving it home in the rain last night, couldnt get traction in 1st and 2nd with a little throttle.

Nice...so that translates to what HP?!?!?

10-23-2007, 02:36 PM
Not sure, it was done on the road as opposed to a dyno tune.
I might have it dyno'd at P&L sometime soon just to see but numbers dont mean as much to me.

Mr Grey

It was ok, nothing spectacular but it was fun.
I am happy with the way the car is running, just not in my driving skills.
I think I missed a gear on all runs last night and even shifted to 2nd instead of 4th on the last run which was ****ty.
I am actually really tired of racing right now, dont want to mess with it until next spring.
My best was a 13.1 with a 1.8 sixty foot.

Mr Grey
10-25-2007, 10:48 AM
Wow, good times man!!! Low 13's with crappy driving. not bad.

Just_A_Wrx
10-25-2007, 10:54 AM
Thanks man. It was either I would get a couple good shifts and a bad launch, or I would get a good launch and miss 2 gears. The 13.1 was the very first run and I missed 4th.
I also have to shift to 4th RIGHT before the line which pisses me off because I think it kills my time as well. I tried to not shift and keep it in 3rd, but I just hit the limiter.
I felt bad after I shifted to 2nd on that last run as I really revved it but it should be ok.

yeah 3-2 shift will definetly mess **** up

Yeah, luckily I caught it so it should be fine.
I was more worried about the trans than the motor.

numbers dont mean as much to me. ok sure

walec05
10-25-2007, 05:58 PM
yeah, stefan....numbers dont matter, just like size doesnt matter..

its the way that you use what you have that matters. duh....unless your with a blonde, then your ****ed, cuz all they look at is size

Just_A_Wrx
10-25-2007, 06:07 PM
Well, 1/4 numbers mean more to me than dyno numbers I should say I guess.

walec05
10-25-2007, 06:10 PM
WELL, you are quicker from a rolling start....right???

and you already have the traction since you are rolling, so you are a bit quicker, so 1/4 numbers should only matter a little bit.

10-25-2007, 07:03 PM
Damn. Nice numbers. I'm going to the track next week. Hopefully I can get into the 13's. But as long as I beat Vin's 350z, I am good.

Just_A_Wrx
10-26-2007, 12:09 AM
Rolling starts on these cars are not a strong point.

walec05
10-26-2007, 12:23 AM
just do a rolling start in like second gear at like 11000rpm...you will definately take them then....after all, the second turbo kicks in during those high rpms, and the quad blow off valves only work best when the second turbo is kicking in.....duh, hello, havent you been on the wrx forums....twin turbo is like the **** right now.

Just_A_Wrx
10-26-2007, 12:32 AM
twin turbo is yesterdays news. Its all in the compressor sensor in the flux capacitor, that spins the turbin wheel that in turn boils the synthetic blinker fluid and that is what drives the extra supercharged turbo that is under my drivers seat. You know, for that extra 560whp and for the 9's. I thought I explained it to you before.

walec05
10-26-2007, 12:35 AM
yeah, but i was ****ed up that time, and didnt comprehend what you were saying....but now i get it....you have to run a top mount intercooler, with under car piping to reduce the drag coefficient of the suicide doors which in turn regulate the rate ant which your wing goes throught the air which in turn gives you the extra boost to possibly get into the 7's. duh, i totally forgot.

Just_A_Wrx
10-26-2007, 12:37 AM
Hmmm, I was thinking of 7's but I dont have my modular return spring tweaked to maximum load, so I will have to settle for mid 8's.

walec05
10-26-2007, 10:05 AM
damn, dude...i just woke up and read some of that **** we posted.....man, i must have been really tired.

just go for the 8's, its more achievable.

What was your mph? I did 13.3@100mph 1.84 60' ....TBE and cobb stage 2 off the shelf map with my 03 wagon.

Just_A_Wrx
11-02-2007, 12:40 PM
Was 104. There are guys that do better times than a 13.1 with my setup, but I need to learn how to not miss gears and **** launches up.
Im not going to the track for a while, but when I do im going to have the guy that tuned my car take it for a couple runs. He drove it after he tuned it and really pulled the life out of the car, I havent figured out how to drive it like that yet.

walec05
11-02-2007, 01:21 PM
practice makes perfect jason......

its like sex.....when you get with a new chick, you start exploring, then once you get to know her, you can ride her blind folded with your hands behind your back.

or into the 12's with 110-120 trap speeds.

Just_A_Wrx
11-02-2007, 01:49 PM
Dont need 110 trap speeds to get 12's.

im just saying, its possible............but **** if i know, i drive a toyota.

nismo3112
11-02-2007, 02:18 PM
That's awesome... 110 trap speeds on a 2JZ are good for mid 13's:wifive:

Just_A_Wrx
11-02-2007, 02:27 PM
Werd, how is the toyota?

Just_A_Wrx
11-02-2007, 02:27 PM
Doesnt matter what my car runs, it wont get the girls like that lexus will ^^.

walec05
11-02-2007, 02:27 PM
i looked at my brothers time slips and 98-101 trap speeds are good for low 14's runs. ha, sucks for him.

Just_A_Wrx
11-02-2007, 02:28 PM
He ran his acura?

walec05
11-02-2007, 02:33 PM
yeah, and now he has no 3rd gear....the glass trannies in those things suck. i took his car for a slow drive around the block, and wow, it doesnt move in 3rd.

i was lightly giving it gas....under 2500rpm, it switched to second fine, and then when it got to third the car was as confused as a blonde infront of a computer.....it didnt know if it was going to shift to 4th, or just rev the **** out of the motor like it did. so now we are looking to replace the trans, and dump the car.

Just_A_Wrx
11-02-2007, 02:38 PM
Haha, cool.
Low 14's arent bad though for that car in an AT as well.

It's nice and slow. Does decent in the corners.

Added an RMM CF Lip and it looks 10x as sweet.

04's-06's... The new one's aren't a bad deal either, I think they start under $20k.. And damn that hatch is a beast!

if your talking about my toyota, its cool.........nice and slow, like it should be, the 5 speed trans doesnt get pass 3k rmp, unless im pissed, then i get it up the 4k rpm, but i have to watch redline, it comes in quick at about 5500.

it gets ****ty gas mileage, and i want to sell it for a deisle truck.
