the struts.....you go over a bump and you hear a loud knock....if yes, then you need front sturts.
very common on A34's and L31's. also, you might need swaybar endlinks. they go bad too. all in stock, and if your out of warranty, i can hook u up with some prices.

Time for a new car. I dont understand how a 2 year old car needs suspension work already. I finally did shocks on my 91 for the 1st time last year.... thats a 17 year old car.

they go bad because nissan fuked something up. we replace like 2-3 sets per week. we just ran out yesterday, and i had to borrow from another dealer.
they sell like hot cakes.
just wait till he gets an abs code.....both rear abs sensor are on back order, the hubs are on back order, the hub inner caps are on back order, and with no release date.

Ahh backorder... Sounds like my job, we're usually on backorder on important parts. :hide: It's always fun being bitched at when breaking the news to them.

yeah, we always get a backorder on parts that break, ie.....maxima automatic transmissions, new altima radios, rear hubs, abs sensor, O2 sensors, exhaust parts, dash vents, cupholders, airbag sensors, airbag modules.....and sheit like that. currently there are 4 pages of backorder parts that we have on order.....who knows how many countless other parts there are on B/O

sway bar links i think go bad on every car in the mid-west in 2-5 years.
I was going them on all the veedubs, dry rotting was one case and another case was because the AC compressor is right above one bushing, it would cause it to fail.

nah, I've seen cars go 10+ yrs without issue. it depends on the suspension. some move more than others

Thanks but I do have an extended warranty... I don't hear a loud knock tho ?

extended warranties don't cover struts in most cases, at least not from anything other than manufactures defect. if they leak, you aren't covered. the only time they cover is when they rust out.

balls in a glass jar??? wtf, maybe a bad front wheel bearing, but thats uncommon on a maxima...see that mostly on muranos.
is that noise comming from the front or rear??
u got extended warranty, so just to the dealership and aske them to check it out.

Ok the Sway Bar link needs to be replaced ( what is that ? ) ( it is covered under my extended warranty )
and they said my drive belt has a piece of it missing.... and they want $150.00
Walec05 how much is a belt ? and who wants to help me install it?
Mr Grey

Belts are cheap. You're still being charged for labor there. Looks like most of us called the sway bar endlinks. Good job guys

What I don't understand, is how could it make a sound like that?
Mr Grey
01-09-2008, 02:43 PM
If the endlink was busted and no longer being held in place then it starts bumping everytime you go through a bump or dip. The faster you go, the worse it can sound. Most people I saw with this problem experienced often during turning. Go figure why it sounds like that :gotme:
