As I said before, I tried to get a hold of Nissan guys- they didn't get back to me then. We tried again what 2 weeks ago ? Still haven't heard an answer, and I know they got the msg. Should I ask again ? I don't wanna be persistent with my asking, but the sponsorship might not pan out. AND we will have to fork out the whole amount for the track - 10K.

Well I don't want to fork over the full 10k if there is very little interest on doing the track. If only a few people are interested then its not worth investing the time and money into it. Even Matt on the org says he can't make it since its the same weekend as a Z event.

I know you posted the Paypal info on the org, Xander. Would there be any wisdom in starting a 'sign up' thread there? Put in an initial payment date, maybe April 15th, and have guys sign up if they can have full or partial payment sent to you by then. Tell them that we need that in order to know we'll have enough people to secure the track for that day.

Too bad we haven't heard back from Nissan yet. Even if we didn't, how hard would it be to get 50 signed up? Mike, you know a bunch of Sentra guys, right? How about the local Z guys and Alti's?

Extremely hard especially if we rely on the majority of drivers being Maxima drivers. It's hard to get anyone to pay that much money and not see the benefits of it the day after. Also have to remember that its on a weekday....

I was thinking that 50 was somewhat high, but because it's open to any/all makes of cars, I figured it would be very possible.

Speaking for myself, I would come, and Tim with his SE-R, another friend with an IS300, and I think Eric, MAXimumHP, is in. Thats 4 just from the Oshkosh/Appleton area. It would be great if that Nissan dealer chipped in some $. That would mean less people needed. For me, $200 for a full day of track time is a great deal.

Yeah, I agree its a great deal and I have no problem paying that either, but we know how it goes when it comes down to forking money over.

I was goin to show up with about 10 Nissan guys, and 5-6 R32 guys myself... I have maybe 20 people lined up to go with us. BUT I am worried bout forking out my own $$$ and havin it not go through and be out of 10 large.

Xander, didn't you say in the org thread that if it didn't go through the money would be refunded? If that's the case, why not get everybody signed up and a deposit paid? Then if there's not enough interest, then it's cancelled and everybody gets their money back.

why not do a small run? like, everybody who is in, pay $10 to show a sign of seriousness... then, when we get near the deadline, we will determine if we get the track or not... then, people will either pay the rest of the $190 or get their $10 back... i just keep seeing things being procrastinated... by now, there should at least be a list of those that want to go and the maxus committee should be making those people put their money where their mouth is... i have 2 guys that are in for sure so that makes it around 30 people already...

Yes I did say that they would get their money back if we didn't get the full $10k. So refunding is not a problem.

Andy in regards to having a initial payment of $10 isn't not a bad idea its just that we could get a better idea if people really want to do this if they pay the full $200, they are serious about coming.

I'm not trying to procratinate here its just that the interest of people coming to Maxus is what worries me. Everyone on the org is posting up why they can't come, which is fine if they can't go, but that seems to to be scaring off people that does want to come but they are worried about a low turnout. For the next few weeks I will try to spread the word as much as possible, to gain as much interest as possible.

well, since people are scared that maxus will have a low turnout, why dont we start inviting people from other nissan/non nissan forums to come to the track day. they dont have to be at maxus, but if they show support for the track, we can definatly get enough money to support the track for maxus. for petes sake, i know that we can get a bunch of people to go from the motorcycle forums as well. they are crazy about track day, and i have read threads where they are paying alot more than $200 for a whole day of track use.

u know, sometimes counting on other non nissan car/bike communities can help us achieve this 10k mark we are after. we can probably make a little more off of this and have a kick ass get together too.

No bikes at the autobahn unfortunantly Paul, whether its only cars or bikes, to much of a liability. I know that the Autobahn won't be just for Maximas or Nissans for that fact, I'm already letting the word out to the Scion and mwir.net community already.

Xander, how much of a deposit would each person need to make? $50? $100? I can Paypal money whenever.....

Then start a Track Day thread on the org with those who have sent money. The sooner we get that going, and the more names on the list, the better chance of a lot of people making the deposit.

Its going to be $200 and that should hopefully be the full payment if there is enough people that pays and shows up. After we have a meeting on Sunday I should be able to be taking in paypal payments and money orders.

Anything happen on Sunday? I still think a track day deposit of, say $100 would be a good start.

What about the hotel? Any info?

Well the unfortunante happend, since the dealership lagged on helping us get the money for the deposit on the Autobahn the day that we are suppose to go on, it was filled in just last week when it was open since the schedule came out I asked if they could hold onto it but they told me who ever comes with the deposit get that day. We might have to push back Maxus a week later in order for us to get the Autobahn, hold on right now, I just pray to god that after I make a few phone calls and the answers goes in my favor planning for this event will be a whole lot better. I don't blame you guys for being mad at me for giving you guys the run around, with answers, but this whole Autobahn is affecting the scheduling and stuff. So bare with me please.

Hotel is probably going to be stil the same, the Hampton Inn of Hoffman Estates, IL.

Thanks for the info, Xander. It's not your fault if the dealership was not timely in responding to you. I would have no problem if you needed to switch the dates in order to get the track reserved.
