So here it comes, my all time favorite combination of speed thrills. I've owned all but the NX in the past and I must say nothing but nothing brings a smile on my face like a B13 SE-R. From its suave looks to practicality, to dependability, and of course bang for the buck.
Aside from normal Sentras, SE-Rs featured 4 wheel disc brakes, Limited Slip Differential enclosed in a close ratio gear box, SR20DE engine, Recaro seats, larger brakes, stiffer and lower suspension, larger sway bars, fog lights. Leather steering wheel, shifter boot and knob where part of a option that almost all SE-Rs came with.
In its day back in 1991 Hot Rod magazine was able to coax 6.4 seconds to 60 out of a stock SE-R along with 14.9 second 1/4 time. Even they where impressed by the little shoe box.
Many people where in awe over the car, and many still seek rust free examples to modify and enjoy over time.
Obviously having an SR20 motor under the hood means aftermarket is plentifull, and you can swap in many fine examples of the SR engine family. From 175HP SR16VE to the almighty SR20VET pushing 320HP from the factory.
Being a light weight car it doesn't really need alot of power, mild mods result in 14 second cars. Mild turbo kits/engine swap results in 12 second cars on pump gas and 34MPG on the highway.
