Help Static on FM chans

Alright, So here is what is going on, 2 months ago my D3 started to get static on FM channels, So I thought it was the radio going bad ( it worked fine for 1 month, and factory radio never had a problem). So last week I had the F90BT installed and still had static issues on FM, But another thing I noticed was the MSN Direct Signal almost NEVER has signal, some times it does for about a min and goes away, but I am thinking that is due to the fact there is static on my FM channels....

So my installer is trying to blame it on the grounding in my car, but I don't think that is the case because he used an external antenna and same thing happens.. and also when he put his hand by some wires behind the radio and messed around, he got signal for like 4-5 min.

But what I don't understand is 1 day it just started to get static on the line..

I am in really disparate need of some help.

looks like a bad connection if u ask me... unground the radio see if it gets better or worse... also make sure that that shield on the antenna IS NOT grounded on 2 locations..

I think he did that to see if it would improve it, he spliced on to the ground cable and ran a wire to another part of the car.

Update, factor radio and everything is back in...
For 2 days everything was normal and now the static is back ..
WTF, Anyone have any idea?

the electircal problems have begun.

i remember we had a titan like this. kept getting static on stations. we replaced the radio 3 times, the faceplate once, the sub harness once, the main dash harness and both antenna harnesses. issue kept commin back. turned out to be a bad switch of some sort, that was causing a short. it didnt even belong to the radio system, but wiring was going through it. dont know how the mechanic found it, but he replaced that and the problem was solved.
