broken trans

my brother's 05 6 speed maxima trans took a dump today, made a popin noise and cracked spillin the trans fluid
car is out of warranty, so we are tryin to source somethin local
so far i found a 04 trans which should work, with 42K miles, they were asking 1250, got them down to 1k so far
anyone seen any of these in a local salvage yards?

like i said, ill call around and check for you tomorrow. im pretty sure my guys will help me out, i just have to see the prices. they arent always the best.

put some silicone on it and trade that bitch in......do it like a true polak.

trade that **** in at carmax. you will get top dollar, and they wont see the crack if you jbweld it, its under the splash shield anyway, no??

yeah but that means he has to buy another car, more payments etc
this one is almost paid off
he only had it for 3 years

did he call 1800 nissan1 yet? that might be a ticket to a good will trans. talk with the rep, and if anything file a complaint. nissan wants a good record. i have seen them help out customers before in almost the same situation......more of an engine warranty issue, but same ****.

cool try that. make sure he has his vin handy and all the paperwork from the dealer that he goes to. they will ask him questions and stuff about maintanace. make sure he BS's and tells them that he was driving normally and the **** just broke....yada yada....

oh, take down all names and times that you called. you will need it if the dealer asks.

well after a week of calling nissan numerous times, they declined the claim, all oil changes/trans fluid changes were done through nissan, but they claimed that my brother didnt do any of the other services like tire rotations etc etc
it is getting towed right now to a shop, $1800 out the door installed with 90 day warranty for a used trans and labor

well tire rotations and all the other services they sell
like 5K 15K 30K etc etc

car was already out of warranty, 72K miles on it
we tried to get it fixed under good will since we owned 10 nissans or so in past 10 years
