CMC will be shutting down as of 1/1/09.. I hate to say this but since my funds are running low and Cattman has pulled his sponsorship ( due to low funds on his end ) I can't pay the cost of running ChicagoMaximaClub.net by my self.

Remember when the site was really slow? That was due to web host sharing, so i had to move the server to a dedicated server, that is why it is so much $ per month.

Been busy and away from the internets to post over the weekend.

I bought the site. I like this place, and I would dislike if this place went away. Ever since the site has been up for sale I saw more posting from people that rarely post...just lurk. i would like to encourage more of the same attitude.

To answer the first question. This site is not a cash cow nor will it be in the near future. The plan is to keep it open with me spending as little money as possible out of my own pocket.

A few things are going to change, but to keep the site open, and encourage more traffic. As I have stated earlier in this thread I do plan on putting a few google ads to help pay for the site.


Donating members will be more clearly defined. You will still enjoy the same priviledges you have, but the Private OT section will only be open to donating members. Lurkers or visitors will not be able to see that part of the forum unless you donate. That part of the forum will also be a lil more loose on rules. That will be defined in more detail later on. Earlier people said they were willing to donate to keep the site open. I'm going to keep you to your words. I want this to be a tighter community.

Starting Jan 1 everyone will become a regular member. I'm going to ask that people donate $25 to become full access members. The only people exempt are those that donated in the last 2-3 months of the year. I remember seeing sites do this in the past to keep costs down on an annual basis. I don't know if I will do the same until we hit the year mark. All the money will be used to pay for hosting, and maintenance. Any money left over will be used to pay for BBQs, and other meets.

Currently Chicagomaximaclub.net/com, and ChicagoNissanclub.com/net is owned by Steven. I'm taking those names, and starting Jan 1 I hope to have the site switch names. Any of the those names will lead to ChicagoNissanclub. Many of you complain that we don't have enough Chicago Nissan unity...I agree. I want to take some steps to alleviate that 'problem'. Having more members here might help us keep the site open longer, and make it more interesting. I will need you guys to spread the word about the site come the new year.

Mods/Admins will stay the same as they are right now. Steven has agreed to stay, and help run the site. I have enlisted Jaber, and Andy to help make the site a lil more creative. Duck, and Paul stay in their current positions.

Those are all the things I plan on so far. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask in this thread.

Haven't worked on a logo yet....that will come hopefully by the end of the year. Migration can pretty much start at any time. Although i think i rather you guys push the site at the beginning of the year to avoid confusion. It will also give us plenty of time to setup as far as server space, and other things that may come.

The thought occured. Not bad idea. I still have some vinyl that I can make decals from. We will make some new stickers based on what designs we come up with/people contribute. That's a lil down the line, but it is a means to raise some money, and it has been considered. :thumbsup:

Political discussions in this forum weren't promoted before because many people here don't exactly know how to express themselves. In other forums people can b*tch each other out with out consequence because the person they are calling stupid is halfway across the country or world in some cases. This is a local forum, and the possibility of getting in someone's face is very plausible. We can all say it's just discussion, but there have been incidents in national news where an e-fight turned into an act of violence.
