Pretty cool actually. This is just on a vq swap and 75 shot if im reading right? Did he just strip the car down to bare bones to get it to that weight?

My understanding is that he has reduced weight on the car in certain spots but it's not totally gutted. It's his daily driver, and the car has a full VQ 35 swap with EU, and other forms of engine management aids. The tranny is stock, and it's an automatic. When he did the runs I think the interior had no seats, but it still has carpeting and such. He sprayed a 75 shots for giggles, and got this time. The car was not originally set up to run this setup. The 75 shot was supposed to be progressive to make it a 200 shot of nitrous. he also advanced the timing to 26, amongst other tricks he has.

He has rigged up a system in which he uses aircraft cable to minimize the boggin from traction. Either way, this man cranks plenty of power out of an N/A VQ35. He was running the fastest N/A time also.

ok u can spend 5k like this dude did and have a 11 second maxima...


or you can spend like 2k and you can do it also... but at the same time not have any problems or engine swaps... dont hate

2K including the car too, as this dudes Maxima is a 5K dollar beater at the most.

you can find a 4th gen for 1K dollars, engine for 500 bux etc etc. Last time I checked weight reduction was free- and if you where smart you can even make some $$$ on it.

I can get on my bike and do 10 second passes, no mods. Don't hate.

I'm a farmer and YES I do have hay coming outa my shoes....

And this farmer knows better not to buy plastic mullet rides that need MERLIN big blocks with 8+L of V8 power to go as fast as a built to sh!t 2JZ, RB30, 2.22L 20V Audi, 3.5L I6 BMW or a 3.2L I6 MB with tons of boost.

MERLIN- is WHOLE new block, crank, pistons etc.... its a re-engineered ENGINE !

Stop acting like a highschool boy with all the pony cars, grow up. When I went to Conant my bolt on 93 SE-R spanked every pony car that lined up @ Plum Grove right by Conant. It ran 14.3 in the 1/4 back then.... fastest IROC-Z was running 14.6 there and I knew the guy from my autos class.

EDIT= this IS going to turn into another flame war against a F-body.... so save me some aggravation I don't think there is ANYONE here who wants to really hear about VWs, F-bodies. So I'm letting this BS go and I am not going to reply anymore to this stupid argument.

yes.. i agree with your SER.. compared to an IROC Z.. which were the worst pieces of **** cars on the road.... ... i would rather have the sentra ANYDAY...

there is really only 1 or 2 american cars that i like and for some reason you guys can seem to digest that...

but hey... what ever.... bitch all you want it doesn't really bother me...

It was the 3.8L Supercharged head gasket pooper mobile ;)

I still think they looked better than any Mustang. 4.6L DOHC SVT motor in a T-Bird and 6spd tranny would do wonders for the Bird.

hey hey. my buddy has a 92 iroc. fully moded and restored. frame off. had a 454 in it, but went back to the built 350 with the 80 over bore. with the turbo 400 trans and a limited slip diff, he lights them up at 80 on the express way. yeah the car doesnt look the best, the interior is kind of crappy, but damn the car is pretty quick. its not a wheelie machine or a 10 second car, but its got balls of power out of that fule injected 5.7l vette motor.

You guys are all too funny :rofl:

The guy doesn't have tons of money. He's a regular guy working his job. He has budgeted his money to be able to do this stuff. He has his teenage kid/s helping out when ever they get the chance.

The guy just knows how to manage his time and money.

Either way it's impressive that a car once not thought of to reach 10s did it without boost, or a built tranny.

yea it was.. but in 93 it was a pretty bad ass car...

and yea it was a pos because of the headgaskets...... which i had to do also

Dude this guy has been running his car on a budget since day one. Look at post #80. Shows what type of guy he is. Its not like he went out and bought best of the best parts. Other than the UTEC and Suprastick whats expensive about his car? Your car looks more modified than his. A fourth gen that runs those type of times deserves respect, especially from a car guy.

I must say I always liked the way they looked.... I'm a 80/90s kinda person when it comes to my cars, but I'm sorry it doesn't handle well.... it doesn't go well. Interior was pretty pathetic....

Haha, my second car was a 88 Irocz, 5.0 TPI, slow as hell 15.2 1/4. I think my 97 Se might give it a run.
