So I read somewhere that you're supposed to burn the old rubber out of the metal framing. Well, it looks like theres a metal part in there that will be in my way if I try to put the new filling in there... How did people get this done...
I burned the thing out in my alley... people were starring, took me a good 2 hours, and now it doesnt look like it was the right thing to do :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :eyes:

Never heard of what you are trying to do, but good luck with that! Is it the electronic motor mount you are trying to replace?

i dont think you are suppose to burn anything. i think you have to force it out with a press. i have seen it done before. but i might be wrong.

u r wrong paul. The stock rubber in the mounts is fused to the mount itself. You gotta cut out and burn out the rubber. The metal piece in the middle should come with thr new mounts so you can just throw it away as well.

you have to press in the new ones, well, you could probably jam them in yourself if you grease them up real good.

I don't burn them out, I use a air hammer with a special bit to remove bushings with. Took me total of 15 min to take both motor mounts out, I havent pressed in the new ES ones in just yet.... too bussy to do it. I am doing it for a fellow polak 02 6spd driver using my old motor mounts so he can just swap out his old ones for new ones while I am putting on his headers.
