so i just got my cams and safc for my sr20 and in the spring im looking to get it tuned...anyone know of any good shops that can do this well and help tune with the safc???? ive lookd into ams in west chicago and got a quote for 185 to tune with the safc.....
http://www.amsperformance.com/dynotuning.php
i think if we can get enought of us togetther to get the rates cheaper like the beginig of march that would be sweet.... this way the rates can be cheaper for some of us....
whod be done to get some tuning done?

damn, those are nice...but thats alot of money. i can buy an AK for that kind of cash. and thats my next purchase. either bulgarian or egyptian.
have fun with the headers.

I would be in for an AWD dyno....
Em headers are not that expensive if you look at what you get ! For instance the 2 headers for my R32 make about 4-5WHP more over stock, and cost 1600 bux new !
No one bothers with headers for my car because power is in the cams for less ;)

Id be in if you get an AWD dyno. P&L motorsports, or AMS would be a couple of options.
I dont need tuning though.

i need some tuning since ill have the cams and safc...... i cant wait to put them in....yesterdday and today are first days in 2 months weer ive driven my nx....som much fun. it will be evere better once its tuned!!!
AMS would be nice, but with their hectic schedule you would be lucky to even have a dyno day. I already tried having one there this past summer. Although if you get your car dyno tuned at AMS you are in good hands with Chis Black he really know his shit. You are better off having it at Pro-Fuction in Burr Ridge, Pinyo and Mikey are good guys there. As far me dynoing I guess we will have to wait and see what future holds for me whether it be my 240 or ...........ride.

Komet motorsports in St. Charles is a decent place, has an AWD dyno but dont expect any big numbers....mustang dyno. I can probably get us all in there for a pretty good price.

Might bring my green beastie out if this happens...

SO let's get the ball rolling to some degree. What month do the majority of you want to/be ready to dyno?

No snow on the ground or I'll be driving like the tard biatch I saw today on the way home from work in her busted SER. She was jerking the wheel left to right like a Parkinson's patient after a triple espresso. Had her eyes bugged out and everything.
One more for an AWD dyno.

All depends on when we do it.... I would love to do this in a month or so.... itching to throw some high flow cats and Schrick camshafts in my Nazi ride.

Do eeett! :badger:
I may be down, but that depends on the price. No point of wasting $$ since i know what my car should put down, 125-130hp. Anything more then that, very najs!

I would say as soon as March, but realistically probably April. That will give time to some of those needing to finish their projects. Lets figure a date, and then picking a shop that will still be open around that time :(

Not trying to be a d!ck but places are closing....... hopefully the majority can tough it out but places will close. 3 months is a long way away when cash in flow is ssslllloooww.

I can check rates for the shop i mentioned in St. Charles if everyone wants. It is a mustang dyno though. Sure we will be able to get in.

Mustang dynos show lower number right? :slap:
Just_A_Wrx

Yes they do, but it'll probably be cheap and its a clean shop.
Either way though. Or I can ask P&L (who reads nice and high).
TurTLe

eh... i just need a baseline... there are calucators or forumlas to convert mustang dynos to a your normal dynojet, i read it somehwere.

That's a very good deal. May 23 is plenty of time for those looking to dyno. It's still early, but it looks like they only have 3 spots filled and they need at least 20. So who's in to join another local group?
TurTLe
01-22-2009, 03:08 PM
i might be in... 30 slots 4 months later down the road. I'm just going for a silly base line for the G and the a follow up one for all the bolt-on's which most likely will be at $85 normal price for 3 pulls.
Just_A_Wrx

Ill check it out and post back.
Mr Grey
01-28-2009, 04:43 PM
Not to be a pessimist, but that other site is getting that deal with 20+ cars. in order for this other shop to come through with that deal we will need to get 20+ people to dyno. I highly doubt we'll be able to get double digits from this site.
Just_A_Wrx
01-28-2009, 04:54 PM
5-10 cars at Komet and they will do 3 pulls each with wideband for $75.
Said they can drop it down a little if we pull in more cars, but will still be close to that mark.
Maybe ill check with P&L as well.

Try contacting Sound Performance in Bensenville and GRD in Villa Park.. i believe GRD has the mustang dyno, and Sound Performance has the built in rollers. ( dont know the name of that )

Driving home, I just remembered about this thread.
You guys still want to do a dyno day? If so, better start looking at a calendar to see what day to set up.
I'm up for it, oh man, I was just at AMS yesterday and if I remembered this thread when I was there, I could of asked them, but didn't doh! I'll prolly drop by next week and talk to them.
Note to all: For those that are willing to help to locate a dyno, make sure they have an AWD dyno. Cuz some of us gots 4 wheels movin'.

08-04-2009, 05:11 PM
blah, i just remember about this thread. well that GD is over. but anyone else down to find a AWD one. I called GRD today but couldn't get a hold of tuan to ask him how much for my g35x since i found out that some AWD dyno's couldn't do auto trans with C.O.P because they didn't have the correct magentic pick up

Is that the same Tuan as here?
I would like to get a another dyno run myself.. Any idea what type of Dyno they have and what they charge?
TurTLe
08-05-2009, 04:49 PM
no, tuan is the dyno operater at GRD and i think the owner.
they have a dynapack, the one that measures power at the hubs, your wheels are removed.
There are only a few AWD shops i can go to with my G35x.
No idea on pricing. I cant find a small group that is completely serious about going for baselines.
TurTLe
08-06-2009, 02:28 PM
PnL wants $85 for 2wd and $110 AWD for baseline pulls.
GRD has been busy with a couple of cars but i was told $150 for AWD and $100 for 2wd.
these two are my main options. Anyone here on this board seriously looking to get a dyno baseline within this month?

^hahaha
the only real dyno that has any benefit for me is at GRD since i'll be going there after all my mods for a orsis tune.
But i talked to a guy there and he told me
$150 for me, most likely wont charge me the extra $25 to hook it up an auto. If i can get people and set a date with a deposit,
5-10 cars is $120 – 3-6 pulls
10-20 cars is $100 – 3-6 pulls
These are AWD prices, I didn't ask if we can mix it up with 2wd. I really didn't find anyone on the other boards dead set. $100-120 for baseline i would be dead set on going, $150 i can wait a bit for a dyno day on someone's boards.

$800 to rent the dyno from 8am-8pm. 20 cars get in and its $40 per car.
