i decided to go with higher aspect ratio b/c of horrendous potholes all over the place and thought it wouldn't hurt, and unless i'm missing something won't effect anything other than speedo
what do you guys think about upsizing

upsizing is pointless... all it will do is throw off your speedometer. your car was designed for a certain overall dimension and that is what you should always aim for (unless you have an offroading vehicle)... if you hit a pothole, it won't matter what size the tire is, if a bubble or flat is meant to be, it will happen...

i would say take a look at these. cheaper but they were great on my Altima. they say they're only summer rites but General says that they're all seasonal. no experience myself in the snow since I have dedicated winter tires.

I'd recommend goodyear assurance triple threads, decent all season tires. Been through numerous death traps without blowing up or separating belts, or getting bubbles.
And yes I have driven on down cicero from wilson to elston, I've got something probably worse that than on my daily route which is chicago ave to downtown

I would downgrade to a smaller wheel with proper diameter tire if your that worried about pothole damage but each to their own...

It is much cheaper to buy a set of new tires for stock wheels, than to buy a set of smaller used wheels + new tires in the long run
