I've seen this on other forums and it seems to work well for the bored.

It's pretty simple: in one post, tell what you did to your car today.

Well my car was throwing a code shortly after I replaced the evap canister. I got pissed off and lifted it once again, to notice a hose and plastic Y connector broken. Bought a similar connector at the auto parts store along with some hoses and replaced them. Lets hope it went away.

I really wanted to vacuum my car, but ran out of time because I need to be at work at 4:45.

Flashback to monday: Ripped up the carpet/backseats/trunk carpet, and installed a pair of 10's in the trunk. no wires visible/clean installation ftw!

Bought OEM radiator support during weekend, will be installing once it arrives at dealer tomorrow or tuesday.

Picked up VQ yesterday, will be replacing valve cover gasket and tube seals, water pump, plenum and LIM gasket, swap out 99 LIM for a 97 and also degreasin the shit outta engine before it goes in the 97. Feeling like polishing the plenum too, any tips?

I just cleaned my engine bay over the end of last week. Got all the salt out and cleaned some connectors that had some corrosion from sitting in the water during the summer flood.

I use Lexol on the leather and some of the vinyl in the car. It keeps my whip looking fresh and clean.

Orly?!?!?
I have been contemplating buying a rebuild kit. I still have my set sitting in the garage collecting dust.
How difficult was it?

it was suprisingly easy, hardest part was breaking the rust on the collars, from there on, it was just time consuming, turning the damn collars alllllllll the way off can get a bit tiring on the forearm... lol

they sent me some updated collars and the lil gaskets that go b/w the collar and springs, they are metal now, not the rubbery plastic they used before, supposed to cut down on noises... that was free, and the struts cost i think ~120 a piece? i ordered 1, they sent me 2.. so i replaced both my fronts even though only 1 was blown lol

I have ALWAYS used Mobil 1 in all my cars, even when Royal Purple was almost free @ my previous job.... just didn't care for it, nor did I see any difference.

Yep yep, I've had discussions with mechanics if spending 16$/Quart of Amsoil is really worth it...

Mike, I've also read good reviews and heard some decent stuff about the castrol stuff, but it's all the same thing when it comes to a science huh?

Oil is oil, there is alot of BS out there. I use synthetic in my bike, car. Thats all.

Get a UOA done if you're curious if one oil is better than another. I did it for my VQ30 and VQ35 and in both cases, Amsoil was slightly better than Mobil 1. Was it worth an additional $3/qt? Probably not.

Its kinda like Motul engine oil in bikes, or Repsol vs your normal HondaLube.... difference aint big. BUT, it is a high performance engine. Mine doesn't see 17K RPM like the 600cc bikes do, but it does have a 11K RPM redline. I don't rev her up that high often as its kinda like a big V8- power is everywhere !

I stand behind Mobil 1, its cheap, its proven - and I like their stuff. In my old B13 I ran GTX in OEM motor, and Mobil 1 in UK Primera GT motor.

I use mobile1 myself, I get a discount on it through my mechanic so I cant complain, engine runs quiet, burns barley to notice in 5.8k miles, engine runs smoother, no clumping, pretty clean even after 5.8k miles... my mum is running on it now, 7.5k miles later its still clean and like a 1/4 quart lower than normal... the trunk looks great, i really hate the acutal symbol how it glares on my bumper and looks like its damaged. I would take that off but mounting holes are there.

As for the sticker it was just like a letter too long for the mini window.

if you want to see how the badge would look in black, by some plasti-dip spray and spray it on after some masking... then you can decide if you want it or not... if yes, it will stay but if not, you just peel it as if your skin is peeling after a sunburn...

Replace motor mount, what a bitch.one of the crossmember bolts in the back was not coming out at all, it just kept spinning so I figured the welded nut in the frame must've broken the weld. I had to go to a client of mine (shop) and just had him change mount for me since I didnt have enough clearance to pull crossmember low enough to pull long bolts out due to the floor.

30 min and bam it was done on a lift

Rear sway bar, front strut tower bar, rear strut tower bar, carbon fiber hood, and lip, and maybe change out to the stock pulley. Maybe that will fix my bucking problem.

I get out at 6:30pm. I rather leave it for some other day. I re-inforced some weak areas already.
I'm too tired to bother dismantling the any part of the car. Let me know what other day you're free.
Thanks again Paul

I messed around with tire pressures today.
Did the chalk test, and put the equivalent of about 2,000 miles on them in about half an hour :P

sorry, no pics of white clouds coming from my wheel well

That sucks John. Which reminds me, I need to inspect my spare...

I'm still hunting why my tranny shifts hard going to 2nd gear after an hour or two of driving. Turning off the car for 1-2mins and the problem goes away... grrr. Hopefully today it doesn't rain and I got time to continue the hunt.
