Saturday May 16 Cruise/Car Show Wisconsin Dells

For the past couple years I have been meeting up with a few WI locals to drive on some back roads, and then proceed to check out the big car show in the Dells. I'll post the original invite, if you guys can't make the cruise IO recommend checking out the car show. There's plenty of customs cars as well as restored muscle cars. Any that wants to join let me know.

Greetings all;

I will be hosting a car cruise/meet (very informal) on Saturday May 16th. We will be meeting at 9:00am in Baraboo Wisconsin. The location will be at McDonalds on Hwy 12 across from Gander MTN. I have done this with the maxima.org people 4 times before.

The intent of this day is to meet from 9:00am until approx. 9:30am and then we will begin a cruise that will take about 1.5 – 2hrs through various local back roads. We will end up in Wisconsin Dells at a pre-determined location and continue with the meet and/or perhaps go to the car show etc. Route details to follow.

On this weekend, for those who haven’t done this with us before, there is a car show in the Dells on this weekend and usually 1200-1500 cars tend to show up. There are also many cars that are there not for the “Show” but just to be there. I have been going to this car show for the last 10+ years or so and it gets bigger nearly every year. It ends up being a great time.

This will be the 5th cruise.

All are welcome and all car types are welcome. This is not car specific. I would like all to know that this is a cruise at a “reasonable pace”…not a time for high speed racing and other nonsense.

like i said, know plenty of places there but need to check the roads and see how they are and if there's gravel and shit on them. don't want to come around a corner only to be surprised by some. if i go this weekend, it'll be for 2 hours and then i'll split regardless of what's going on. still have to see since it'll be cutting it close to the grad party

And not sure how long we will be there, but lets say we are there till 12am, I get home around 12:30 and you guys are planning on leaving around 5:30am. That means that I have to be ready and out by 4:30am. So I get about 3 hours of sleep. Thats cutting it close for me for 6+ hours of driving.

Edit: BTW, anyone that wants to meet up I plan on leaving home at 5am. I rather be early than on time. Also I rather not speed on the way to WI since most troopers already don't like IL plates.

yea, and i need to sleep at some point. been going to sleep 11 - 1130 and waking up at 430ish all week so worn out. don't think i can do the hookah, wake up at 5 to go to wisconsin and then be at the party all day. but i will be there tonight. sucks since i really wanted to drive the M on those roads but i'll get a good road planned out for one of these weekends.

Total driving time = 10hours and 400+ miles :D

The plan was to go to Marcin's, I had driven most of the day. I took a quick shower, and wanted to take a small nap. I knocked out, and was so tired I started snoring. The only time I snore is when I'm BEAT. Andy didn't wake me when he heard me, I woke up later to just drop him off.

I know he was pretty beat too because he kept knocking in & out of sleep most of the ride to and from.

It was def fun, and it looks like we have a couple more fans for next year. You learn a lot, and get to use a lot you didn't know. :D

This year my car held very well, and it pleases me bacuse each year I'm also improving.

Looks nice, Jaber also mentioned on AIM how nice it was. Wish I would've made both the Hector's party and the cruise but my car is not in the condition to be driven much as is, got bubbles on both front tires (temps til new are purchased) and tierods are gone to shit after 7months.

Def would of had to becareful on Saturdays run, I remember seeing quite a bit of gravel on the apex and decent size rocks/debris hitting the car.
