woooooooooo HONDA! not bad. i mean cbr hasn't changed since 2007. all those bikes always go back and forth i feel like depend who changes the model that year.

cool kawa is #1 :) not surprised though, they added some more power in 2009 and revised the body for more of an aerodynamic look and feel

wow, suprised with yamaha, a couple years ago they were on top. i remember honda has always had a firm hold on 2nd or 3rd place. kawi and yamaha have always switched between 1st and 4th. yami has to up the power a bit.

I think they've also become a little less popular since Kawa's are so bloody cheap to maintain and purchase

what do you mean by cheap to maintain?
unless its a ducati, maintenance is the same, oil filter, tires, chain lube

breaking down wise, if something breaks it's cheaper to fix... while I was searching for info on the bikes I've come across prices for parts to be cheaper for the kawa

the difference is almost not noticeable
again if you maintain it, it shouldn't break, cause there is nothing there to really break, no power windows, no navigation no sunroof, again its a bike, suspension, frame, wheels, motor, plastics

go into the showroom, and compare the quality of the welds on the frame etc, and you will notice why I ride what I ride

+1 power delivery is the biggest thing in bikes right now. the R6 lacks a lot of lowend power so it's mroe of a track bike than street. paul can probably tell you a difference but when i rode his cbr, i could feel the lack of low and mid range power that the 675 has. it's not worlds different but it's def there. i'm sure the same can be said between the gsxr and the R6

i fell in love with the sound and looks of the ducati yesterday on the way to school... but your statement makes me rethink a little bit... then again, maintenance on the bimmer and on a ducati sound the same :spend:

ducatti is high up there in terms of maintenance. gorgeous bike and i would love to have a white 848 in the garage but just not possible right now. the new R1 might be just as unique in terms of sound but it's a diff bike than a ducatti.

hahahaha, that's how i ended up with the 675 and M45. had plans to get them at a time and stumbled across them without actually looking

Yea I've seen a couple decent ducatis on CL... they are nice looking bikes, sound great but you need to be able to afford the bike and not "just make it"

walec05
05-13-2009, 05:31 PM
yeah, a bike is a toy, not your DD. so unless you can afford spending the extra money on gas, insurance and have the storage for it. do it, if not...then wait.

If you want the sound of a Ducati.... you should hear a RC at full tilt. Not this puttsing around we do on the street but when I actually GET ON IT.

There is a reason why my bike is called a Duc Hunter...

Kawasaki does build cheaper bikes, its noticable. Its like looking at a Nissan Altima vs Honda Accord. You can see that the Honda is put together with some common sense, where the Nissan.....

To me, Kawi is good. I probably will own another one soon. Its Honda or Kawi for me.

Yea, I've noticed that there are many details missing from kawas... the joints look like they've been shitted on and not welded, farings look CHEAP, but it's a reliable bike for the people that cant afford 15k for a decent bike...

dude you can get a nice bike 5-8g, especially right now

put the :rob: away
all import bikes from japan are affordable, priced very closely to each other

walec05
05-14-2009, 07:14 AM
yeah, alan all import bikes are about the same in price. 06 honda/06 yamaha = 06 zx6r, price wise, even though the zx6r has 37cc more and has a slipper clutch and a 10mm fatter rear tire.

the things is most people buy the ducatti because they can afford it and it's uniqueness. i would love to have an 848 or 1198 but for the price, you can get something that performs just as well if not better or you can get a pretty good car, 1198 goes all the way up to 40k. the 675 is inbetween, jap performance, ducatti uniqueness, and maintenance that's inbetween the two (not as expensive as a ducatti but more-so than the jap bikes) it's the price you pay to stay unique.

yea, thats kinda my point... kawa's (all japs in general) are made for the avg user that can afford a bike... not like bmw's, ducatis or even some of the superbikes

lol... no I'd have a few more tickets for wreckless driving (got that one too along with speeding) and public endangerment (got that one too along with wreckless and speeding)

I'm in no rush, I want to make sure all my bills are payed off that need to, and I'm stable financially so I can pay the bike off in cash, I dont want to do credit.

if you had a bike, you would not have all of those tickets. youd be either in the hospital or dead by now. just a little FYI.

i open my bike up on the highway and do some crazier stuff, but i do drive it normal, and usually get to my location faster, but i try and be safe. pretend like nobody can see you, even if they are looking at you dead in the eye.

DasTeknoViking

Hes 20. When I was young I drove wrecklessly also ;)

I do drive in my comfort zone of 80 at most time. I have a speed for each of my roads I am on. I am on the same damn road every day. Palatine its 5 over the limit, and Naperville.... its whatever I feel like. Not to say I fly at 80 on the streets, but 50-60...

Bike is a whole diff ball game....

kerosene

erm, when the cop caught me, he got me at the slowest speed I went within an hr... for about an hr - one and half i was going 129 ;) that was fun

^ watch out now... the tires on your car are most likely not meant for that speed so extended driving at those speeds could have been a disaster...
